Keeping your eye on the ball
« on: July 20, 2018, 02:14:35 PM »
That saying they always say in golf "Always keep your eye on the ball" had me thinking about skating and led me to asking, What is the "keeping your eye on the ball" for skateboarding.

For example when I am going to do an ollie on flat, I either look at my feet (bad) or looking at where I want my ollie to land (good).

Another example, fs 5050 on a ledge. Look at the spot where I want to land on the ledge, then once I am locked in, I will begin to look at the end of the ledge and then once I am at the end I will look at where I want my ollie out to land. This all happens very quick and took me a while to break the habit of looking down at my feet randomly during tricks.

I've hardly heard anyone talk about where your eyes should be looking before, it might just be common sense to some people, while some people might have never thought about it.

What do you guys think?

Be the board.
Sit back relax and let yourself go, don't sweat what you heard but act like you know.

Slightly OT but when I'm skating I always tell myself to skate like I'm good and it's really helpful

I saw your mom do a ollie to cooch drop straight down the big black pole, it was gnarly. she defiantly shut that shit down
