hell yeah great stuff thusfar! my buddy and i try to send tunes like this back and forth via text all the time- i hit him with velly and he returned it with some italian disco

getting out of a music rut is always fun
jump on youtube or google and search for a) time period b) place on earth c) genre d) blog(spot) if youre looking for downloads

ie: 80s estonian funk
     finnish post punk

i saw this

hardly illustrates how sick they are live, the globe thing they play is cool as a cucumber

dont know what youd call it-desert psych?

Cymande (i.e. danny renaud in mosaic) have some great albums, and combine funk with a rastafarian element. The krautrock band Can plays some heavy funk rhythms, but get way weirder than straightforward funk.

what do you mean by generic?
stuff like chic, Kool and the Gang, generic was definitely the wrong word, hence the *for lack of better word

I don't know if this qualifies but I want to share it here..

I've been on a african music kick lately.. The way the mix jazz, funk, soul and african native music is just so rhythmic and full of life..

For this Mr. Flagio tune, I went on eBay to see if I could find a copy and of course it was 200.00 or more. Apparently a rare record (though I shouldn't be surprised).

this is kinda cool. pretty sick horns on the first track. kinda heavier sounding 70's style. might be too "generic" though. this label is pretty solid if you're into that kinda stuff.

same style. love the groove on this one.
