Nose/Tail for certain tricks
« on: July 29, 2018, 11:44:24 AM »
another useless question but here it goes...I just saw TK "skating" in where he cabs then switches stance and goes reg crook. So, either cab off the nose or crook off the nose and it got me thinking...I've always done pop-shuvs off my nose, I think it started because they are usually wider(I have bigger feet) and the nose is usually steeper(better pop). For some reason I thought this was common place until BSing with some dudes at the park and got some funny looks.

Just curious if any others out there do anything similar.

I go off the nose for shuvs, varial flips/heels, and i tend to wallride with my board backwards also, in my head it's so i don't scrape the tail down too fast on one side.

Whatever way leaves me standing correctly on the board, be that forwards or fakie.
Hey, hey, hey. Don't be mean. We don't have to be mean because, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

Backside-behind-me-anything: pop shuvs, Varial heels...for whatever reason *mental* I do off the nose.

I KNOW I can do them off the tail (and force myself to at times) but somewhere down the line I must have found out it was easier to do them off the nose and it has become a thing...maybe I like riding away with the board in the normal position?

I like to do everything of the nose until I get razortail on the nose(or razornose) & then do everything of the tail until I get razortail.  I like the wear on the board to be symmetric.
All you got is today, get out and skate.

I definitely like switching my nose and tail for some tricks, mostly transition cuz my nose trucks are tighter than my tail side trucks. Helps with wheelbite while riding away. Watching Erick winkowski skate nollie and fakie without switching up the nose and tail really pushed me to into challenging myself that way.

i pop all fakie and nollie tricks with the nose except fakie 360 flip and half cabs. all shove its get popped with the nose if possible, except 360 shuvs(can't do those anyway). pop most switch tricks with the nose. i actually think i use the nose on more tricks than the tail, but i mostly do ollies, kickflips and bs 180 and only try most other tricks when i play skate with my best homie.

I figured out last week that I'm way more consistent on my switch crooked doing it off my tail, rather than off the nose like all my other nollie/switch tricks. It was too short to turn around the board between 2 tricks and it kinda worked out for the best

I ordered custom decks with mellow everything and they are symetrical.  That way when the tail gets sharp I can switch the trucks around and my boards will last twice as long.  I don't break boards.

"deck crafters"  -you can get custom kick tail and concave too, that was what was important to me.  He will take A LONG TIME to send you the shit and HE WONT RESPOND to any emails from people wondering where tf the shit is.  So just order and wait forever and they'll come.  Mine did.
