this is the reply i got after posting that little story on birdo's myspace

Anybody can say anything. Here is Leticia's email to Olu and his response back-

Hey Olu-
I just read your interview in Swimmer's Ear. I have
no clue whatyou're talking about when you mention our
latest ads. I hate to take ablow at your ego, but we
moved on when you guys left, and therefore, none of our
ads are directed towards you-not even in the
slightest. We've had your back to this day for
leaving, and have never blamed youfor anything.
Hopefully, telling those lies makes you feel
betterabout yourself. Just remember, I was there for
that same conversation.
And I'll leave you with something to think about. If
you are the onewho left for Nike, who was the one who
was really in it for the money?
Leticia

Response-

i have to apologize for the things i said in swimmers
ear. i haven't seen it yet but i remember being
pretty upset over some of the don't do it ads and the
drunk shoe when it came out. i took it personally
because i felt i was involved in the recent conflict
between you and them. i was pretty heated and i said
things i shouldn't have said and i wish i wouldn't
have said them either. i realize it doesn't mean
much now but sorry about saying those things and i'm
glad things are working out well for you.

I remember having an email conversation with birdo and actually stirring up a lot of shit with consolidated because i called him out when they started the "don't do it" campain a bunch of years ago. I was writing for a magazine at the time and found about 20 links to online sports mega stores that carried nikes, boxing gloves, weights, speedos and consolidated skateboards.  I simply wondered why consolidated could be in GIANT retail shops and still remain "core".

Let's just say that birdo was pissed.... practice what you preech...

now i dont see consolidated boards in any large chains or sporting good stores. Good job covering those bases birdo :) Much respect.

Oh wait, nevermind ... found one...

One time i saw a kid at a skatepark with a pair or P- Rods and a "Don't Do it Board". That Emeric Pratt guy is good, i hope he finds a sponsor soon.

They even made a shirt that said "you fucked up and trusted us".

Consolidated has been fucked for awhile.
