Just curious what size board do you ride?  Also hyped on this thread title.  200lbs is indeed not that fat.
All you got is today, get out and skate.

You need to start riding DSM wood, 8.5 preferably. They make the best boards(outside of Powell Flight Decks) and offer a 30 day warranty against breakage, which they are good about honoring. Just need proof of purchase with date, it doesn't have to be ordered directly from their thankyousupply.com shop either.

Do you have long legs? I found getting a board with a longer wheelbase helped a lot. I got a 8.8x33 creature with a 15" wb and it lasted way longer than the 3 weeks my boards were lasting, despite creature having shit wood.

When you have long legs and a normal wb you can't really land bolts without being off balance cause your legs are too close together.

Then I started buying fickle boards in the same size (8.8x33) and have only snapped one in the ~6 years I've been riding them. He upped his price tho over the years. His shapes are a little weird tho, the popsicle which I ride has a pretty gnarly nose

The DSM deal sounds good too.

I’m 6’ 250. I am fat, and I do land like an asshole.

Boards normally last a month before the life has been sucked out of them and they feel like the pop is dead (generator wood) or they last anywhere from a day (chocolate, I’m looking at you) to a couple weeks and they’ve snapped.

I’ve been skating a flight deck for the last month. Getting a little razor tail but otherwise feels brand new.  I’ll try to land shit that I would normally bail on just because I know the board will take it.

They recently had a sale and I grabbed another one for 20% off to skate later.  Graphic is awful and bums me out but not as much as trying to skate a regular deck.  The one I’m on now is shape 249, and the new one is 244.

I'm pretty heavy for my height, (not 200 pounds, but still more than I would like at 5'7) but I haven't broken a board in years. I don't really skate drops that much, but sometimes I wish an old board would just explode on impact so everyone at the park would think I was cool or something.

Sounds like you need to lose some weight, fattie.

Dude don’t feel bad I weigh the same but I’m 5’3.  I get darkstar 7.75 boards and I don’t break them.  Try that

Fill every available inch with trucks so you can land over them like you're supposed to

try losing atleast 10 pounds and maybe lose a few inches? 5'9 would be ideal for your boards

Probably want to stop riding Quasi (or maybe Hockey too if they’re PS). PS breaks way easier than Generator

Also do you skate heavily padded cupsoles, or thin vulcs. Skating vulcs has always made me terrified of landing anything hard or not-bolts and this has prolonged the life of my boards

Obviously a pretty clever solution, but remember he is not that fat, so he might have trouble handling it.
How to get an indestructible not-that-heavy board you ask me? Well, just add bolts everywhere.
Every fucking landing... BOLTS!

Anyone who says "just land bolts" is just an asshole defending an industry who is making shitty products so they can sell more of them. Boards are intentionally made to last about a month.

You can land like an asshole on good decks and they don't break.

Pretty sure SFB was being facetious.
If you think about how little material is in them, decks are actually pretty strong. I might try a dwindle deck if they have a warranty, did not know that.

I'm gonna take a wild guess that the warranty is for manufacturers defect, which I doubt covers any sort of breakage from normal skating.

I'm around 220 pounds and 6 feet tall (a little bit fat tbh) My receipt for not breaking that many boards: Generator wood, spacers (not sure if affect but works for me) and getting a wider board.

I'm currently riding 8,75 and I never felt more comfortable on board.

I'm 6'1" and 205 and I haven't broken anything in a while. I've been on a mix of Anti-Hero and Quasi, with some Welcome sprinkled in there. I also don't send it down stairs because I am 43 years old...so...maybe get old and avoid stairs? idk...

I was kidding but also I don't know what it's like for you guys because I always and I do mean always land bolts. I could skate a 2 ply honestly. I could skate toilet paper. Always.
