Art Bars era was my favorite. Ruzcyks part and Strubings were my favorite. I did not know anything about "Style" back then I just remember liking every part and looking back it was cause those dudes had a good style, well Roy may not have been a styler but he skated to good music. Haha.

All of Ethan’s Foundation parts are incredible. I still get psyched when Let’s Build a Home kicks in during his Art Bars part. I also love when he sweeps the chair out from under Angel in Cataclysmic Abyss.

Don’t remember Taylor Smith. So he turned pro and then disappeared?
You’re the one claiming he exists, you tell me

This is random, but did anybody else first watch Art Bars in segments on Bluetorch TV?

I'm down for a foundation renaissance. It's also nice to see them get the KOTR attention amidst two brands who have no problems selling boards.

Honestly the only one that does anything for me is cole wilson.  Dude could/should be on jamie foy/zion level but instead he keeps with foundation and smaller brands and has more taste with his rails.  Some of them are pretty OD but he isnt just fucking up every rail and taking a red bull check and hat, seems like he has a good idea of what he wants his skating to be.

Love that guy, glick is pretty cool too, the team is great they just dont do a ton for me.

Why is everybody talking about art bars and that’s life like they weren’t on the decline then? Those videos were trash compared to videos lile Tentacles of Destruction, rolling thunder, barbarians at the gate, and all the videos from when dudes like Creager, Olson, Heath, etc. were in and foundation was actually at its peak

No he didn’t. He quit foundation to ride flow for deathwish. Then he got into heroin. Now he’s shredding and clean.

I've always liked Foundation, and I'm a big fan of their current team. Unfortunately I think Ethan Fowler kind of put the first nail in the coffin when he talked shit on them during that Skatetalk video.

I love Rolling Thunder. But I started skating in 98 and started looking for videos around 99 or 2000 so all of those were before my time.
Art Bars was the first video i owned that was not a 411 and srill one my favorites video. I disliked That's Life.  I remember after that's life Foundation boards were fucking everywhere. That might be their financial peak. In no way do I mean their best team or whatever else, just financial.

Yup! I ripped Kris Markovich's part onto a VHS tape and wore that thing out. Loved the music and art snippits in that video. It was probably one of my first introductions to art and editing. Also loved Jon West's part.

Must watch Foundation part.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9K4ARHm6cc

This part rules man and is probably my favorite Creager part of all time.  He was so far ahead of the game.  I was filming with them for this video before getting kicked off and was there for a bunch of this stuff that Ronnie filmed, dude has always been slept on sort of it feels like.

The most memorable board they've put out in the past decade was Dakota's first pro deck that was done by Templeton. WTF was actually a decent enough video but the art direction at the time was atrocious. As good as the team is, they are pretty much all known for handrail skating.

He was on the reformed Mystery team under the Surplus Distribution flag. But either was kicked off or quit before it really started back up. But i remember talking to the rep at the time and said Taylor would show up TOO high and then just walk out with a stack of boards.

They did a similar one for the Baker Family Tree that is rather nifty:

When I was younger I never understood why everybody liked this part.

https://youtu.be/HkRUwsb6P8g

What a stupid kid I was.

That's funny, when I was younger this part really showed me what was possible in skateboarding beyond tricks and helped define what I wanted to do from then on. Still in my top five.
2 out of the 3 Foundation boards I've owned in my life have been Justin Strubing boards
fuck you bama

I think the are different milestones in play.

You've got cutting edge of the industry but perhaps poorly aged big-pants-small-wheels Foundation, a solid middle aged Foundation that was maybe behind its contemporaries but had stylish riders, and then early 2000s Duffelmania Foundation that was very popular amongst the tight jeans set but shouldn't be discounted because Duff's Cataclysmic Abyss part is the shit.
