The best part of skateboarding is that it attracts all sorts of characters.

This is a great interview so far, glad to hear anything from one of skateboardings most colorful. Thanks 9 club.

Crazy to think he was only 16 at Baker 3. I was at the premiere and afterwards outside of the theatre he had a MOB of people jumping on him, congratulating him, hyping him. Me and my buddy then saw Jim Greco who looked more than pissed lol. Antwuan's part was insane and obviously the room went nuts.

We also saw Torey Pudwill at one point in the night after the premiere, walking through a parking garage. He was alone, slouch walking (like with a limp) and was honestly looking shady as fuck. His beanie was half hanging off and his jacket had a shoulder on and a shoulder off (like your highscool girlfriend when she would wear your jacket) He smiled and nodded to us and slouched off into the darkness.

Side Story: One time (at another premiere) I saw Steve Berra at a Subway. Didn't stick around to see what he ordered though :-/ He brought Sean Malto along.

Hahahahaha his favorite movie is the Devils Rejects, that was such a curveball, so fucking random and unexpected. I lost it when Chris said he’d never seen it and Big Candy was like “whaaaatttt???” With some authority, as if he expects everyone to be familiar with that shitshow. I love this so far, it’s exactly what you think it’s gonna be, but so much more. Plus it got me all nostalgic for 2005, he truly came out of fucking nowhere when Baker 3 dropped, it was sensational.

wow i always thought it was just me being a skate nerd/conspiracy theorist but, i remember seeing a 'the skateboard mag' back in the day that had a sequence of antwuan doing a heelflip crook on the bump to bench he mentioned and p rod doing it switch in the same mag.. then a couple of mags later seeing a 2 page spread nike ad of prod doing a fs flip over a double set rail and sure enough the next mag after that had antwuan doing it switch in a spitfire sequence. i always wondered if that was just a coincidence and now it's official that it was indeed not.

I actually pulled these out of the closet to wear a couple weeks ago that I had bought a long while ago.

We are all rooting for you, Antwuan. UNDENIABLE steeze. The Baker 3 part is a banger that lives up to all the hype. Also really enjoyed the Has A Deathwish section, he has never had a bad part. I said a few weeks ago he has one of the highest quality to quantity ratios in skating history. It also was humbling to see him sober here and tackle some serious demons. Despite that you can see his humor is there and it appears (and based off my short interactions irl) that he really is a solid dude.

Good episode, very heavy in terms of real life. Chris Roberts has really blossomed as a host (that may be controversial here) but it was Kelly Hart who really helped carry this one. Rog, on the other hand, had some pretty funny and just overall awkward interactions.

And, yes one of the best parts of skating is that it attracts all sorts.

Rick McCrank's Post Radical on Vice TV highlights this with his episodes on skate school, Palestine, Israel, the slalom scene with a 70 year old woman throwing it down, the downhill scene, the freestyle competitions that still go on, even the guys are way into fingerboarding up in Scandinavia.

Not just that he saw it, but he saw it while he was stealing ribs and didn't have time to grab one. Holy shit.

There's a lot to love about this episode, but my favorite thing by far was Antwuan's high pitched, "mmm-hmm,"s. Gold. Solid gold.

I would pay good money for Shaq and Antwuan to interview each other.

Edit - Its not that he's THAT incoherent, it's just that he hardly finishes his thoughts.

Good to see Antwuan free. Glad he's back on his board.

I noticed something about this episode I hadn't noticed before. Roger and Kelly are much better listeners than Chris.

When Antwuan was talking about the death of his mom, you could tell you he wanted to talk about that, but Chris was interjecting a "yeah" or "right" everytime Antwuan paused to take a breath. Then Chris derailed the convo and asked Antwuan if he knew these other skaters. Antwuan then brought up his mom again in relation to those other skaters and how she was always there for them.

Eventually Antwuan kinda harped on how sometimes you are talking to someone and they don't really care about what you are saying.

Maybe I'm reading into it to much, but that's just what I noticed.

I always notice Chris does that in every episode. He never lets people finish what they’re saying befores he starts saying ‘yeah, right, for sure’.
