Leonard Cohen has some good ones too!

Been pretty basic lately so stuff like Neutral Milk Hotel’s Oh Comely.

Some Sufjan Stevens shit can get me pretty depressed.

Soul Coughing/Mike Doughty have some hidden gems like True Dreams of Wichita and How Many Cans?

If im sad but also pissed off its Andrew Jackson Jihad all the way.

When my brother died I found this band that did a fine job of putting to music my depression and overwhelming sadness:

Kinda higher energy, but nonetheless some pretty good emo revival.

cranford nix reminds me of a junkie i knew in detroit. his name was marty and he was from roseville [same as cranford] and he wore a blue dickie's onesie w/ slicked back, kinda long hair and would panhandle so desperately 'can you please spare anything?'
dude ruled, we never got high together but we'd be in the same circles and he was a legend. other dude in my squat D hated marty because once they'd copped crack together and marty got to take a hit in greektown but D blew his out because someone opened the backdoor to their alley. D held a grudge LAMF!
marty lived in a traphouse w/ half a roof. idk how the gangstas allowed him up there but god bless. marty needed $10 to cop every time, $5 blow and $5 rock, he only did speedballs. drugs are this and drugs are that but you'll meet some characters through them, that's for sure.
for anyways, cranford nix is rad, his lyrics will break your heart.

For me it's Bob Dylan.    I tried but I end up hating it.
