Paging Ted Barrow.
Now, we used to say we put on our tights to put on the world. So I don't think it tarnishes the image at all.

heyyyyyy.

I'm a in my 40's and started skating again after a 20+ year hiatus guy and I wouldn't be caught dead on a shape like that.

I’d just like to point out in all humility that I was way ahead of the curve on this one.  I hope you guys get to be trendsetters some day... it’s a pretty great feeling.

At the risk of opening myself up to ridicule, here’s some decks where I try to recreate some famous paintings.  As someone with zero artistic talent, I’m kind of proud of how they came out:

that's pretty tight. the Goya piece has always been one of my favorite works, I think I even used it in a skate edit when I was younger, but in reality it's so popular I don't care who rips it. it's actually pretty cool to use as board artwork but I do wish Dwindle used that opportunity to drop some harmless, instructive information about the original piece and its message on the bunch of groms their marketing caters to. Magenta has been doing 'late guest artist graphics' using Soy Panday renditions of works by the likes of Klimt and Paul Klee, always mentioning the original artist and their backgrounds and it kind of gives those boards an educational purpose. the Goya piece without any context and just a logo is pretty sterile (especially now that I feel like the average kid doesn't research much by themselves anymore, for there is too much information available and they're clueless as to where to start), and a missed opportunity.

A lot of his stuff, especially the “black paintings” are pretty well-suited for skateboards.  They’re so metal they make Slayer album covers look like the Berenstain Bears.

Backing boards with wheel wells, but I think So cal culture has pretty much run it's course in skateboarding art direction. Baker was probably the last company to really change the game.

This holier than though, hero stuff, just like dude said about Goya being a "master". What does their talent have to do with this part of it....energy drink= lame as hell. Saying you cant ripoff someone because they are a master is lame too

Dudes been dead over 100 years I think he's not going to kick up a fuss with Dwindle Skateboards not giving him credit, skate brands use other peoples art/photographs/music all the time without giving credit I don't know if we need another thread for every one? It's skateboarding, take from outside as outside will take from us, but not from others inside. Just because brands do graphics similar doesn't always mean they've copied someone else.

This is fucked

I said this before but that part is so gnarly I don't think it registers to most people how gnarly it is.

When it was in the Videos section it got like 12 comments. I firmly believe skating is a subjective art but fuck, how can you like transition skating and not appreciate this?
