You should be able to tell for the most part.

[close]

how do you like this deck MS? I'm skating it currently as well, I love most of drehobl's shapes but this one seems a bit off...
[close]

im also skating it and i have to agree with you..a little more pointy and it seems a bit short..never the less still good
[close]
The nose seems narrow even though it's kind of square, and it makes a weird cracking sound when I pop and land.
[close]

Believe it or not, that cracking sound that you hear is the paint underneath the baseplate of the truck.  If you were to unmount your trucks and sand the paint off the area of the board where the mounting holes are the sound will go away.  It's something to do with the kind of paint used to silk screen/heat tranfser the deck, that if you stand and press on the tail you hear an odd cracking sound but it's just the paint crackling at the crease of your trucks.
[close]
Thanks for clearing that up, I guess, but there's no fucking way I'm going to unmount my trucks and sand that shit. I'll just keep thinking I'm fat and my board is crying.
[close]

thats really funny...everyone's been thinking my board breaks everytime I land since I've been skating the damn thing. I think its the same size as drehobl's original shape....DELUXE I'm really happy you make this because it's so damn hard to find something so short and stubby!

dan's got a board in the new catalouge thats something like 8.026x32....try that one rolled ankle, if you think this board is too short.

ps if anyone else can point me out to something around the size of 8-.8.3 x 31-31.25, I'd be really, really grateful!
[close]
I dont know if it was just the one we got but the newest leo romero toymachine eyeball board showed up 8.25x31.125
It has a really stubby tail. The size doesn't match up at all to what the tag said.

I'm ripping this Drehobl board too. I think it's sick. I want 3 more of them.
i saw my grandma bail off a 4 set once in my house and she even got up and came to red lobster after.

wrong

here's the chart

SIZE MM        INCHES   INCHES
109  101.00   6.50       UNDER 7.00
129  127.00   7.60       7.40-7.75
139  137.00   8.00       7.75-8.25
149  150.00   8.50       8.25-8.75
169  162.00   8.90       9.50-10.00
215  183.00   10.00     10.00 above

that last part gives you an idea what size deck to ride for each size

[close]
That's indy sizes. An 8 in thunder is 147, 8.25 and up is 149

yeah i could have gone into further detail and said that but no one was talking about what trucks to put on an 8" board

149's (Indy and Thunder) are 8.5".

It's ultimately up to you if you want to ride frogger or magic carpet steez

just a FYI.

the reason you can ride 8.5 trucks with a 8.25 with no overhang (provided you arent riding 57mm and up..or super fat wheels) is because just the axl extends to 8.5 and there is usually a little axl left after your wheels are put on. in other words most wheels dont stick out over the axl...most 34mm wide and under (what most of us ride anyway)

...that along with 1/4 is only 1/8 on each side which is negated when you factor in the axle theory above

The thunder 149s are a hair smaller than 8.5...they are actually in between 8.5 and 8.25

Just wondering can I ride thunder 149's on an 8 inch deck? Or would the wheels overhang?
[close]

149's are 8.25. the wheels will overhang
[close]
i tried lining up 149s with my 8.25 and the trucks still stuck out bit
[close]

do you really care if your wheels overhang or underhang? does it effect your performance that much?
[close]

Everyone i've ever met has been bothered by trucks that overhang.

And I just set this up this morning.

Shut Manfre Deck 8 something x 32 something
Indys with my old krux bushings in them
Bones 55
Bones Swiss

I wanna ride a Shut deck but haven't seen them anywhere.

I'm not positive but I think they switched wood shops and use bareback/generator now.
I ordered 4 more because I like the shape so much.
I highly recommend getting one.

It's funny that you put an Anti-Hero sticker on your Slave deck,
because Jamie really wishes that Slave was Anti-Hero.

He's still getting that Blackbox loot for it though.
He's okay with Slave being the Anti-Hero of the mall.
Zumiez' Anti-Hero.
You know you're disrespecting Julien, right?
The kids with the tie-dye wheels and flannel don't, though.

I think randozzi took that picture for that graphic, or someone else on here did.

And randozzi, I am hyped on the fact you have red paint on your trucks. Skating curbs is good shit.
