How tall are you and what stuff do you skate? I'm between 6 5 and 6 6, size 13 feet. Currently skating the dlx 8.62 shape with a 14.75 wheelbase with ace 55s and feels great. I skate mostly flat, flatbar, ledges and stuff, wondering if sizing up any more would be beneficial.

6'6. mostly ledges/boxes and bowls. i learned kick flips on a 9" but i guess a skinnier deck would be easier. just gonna say it now though, once you ride this wide of a deck i can never go smaller. probably just a wheelbase thing as my knees touch when i try and ride anything under a 15" wheelbase (i guess its just a bad habit/posture when setting up for tricks). id recommend trying the board, but like I said it'll be tough switching after riding it exclusively haha.

Thanks for the input, yeah I find smaller boards(8.5 with a wheelbase around 14.3) more manoeuvrable and easier to pop high, but yeah the big boards are just so much more comfortable, and it just feels harder to slip out of tricks when you don't land perfectly. Might try to gradually size up, first with the 8.75

Sidenote: When I bought the deck the DLX measurement sticker listed the wrong dimensions. Said it was 8.12" x 31.38" with a 14"wb. Didn't realize it until I got home and compared it to an old board with those dims and noticed the new one was longer.

I've only ridden them for a handful of sessions, but so far they have surpassed my expectations (especially after riding Spitfire F4's the past few years). They feel similar to F4 101a's but a little more smooth and forgiving over crusty ground/cracks. They also seem to slide pretty well on ledges/curbs even though the riding surface is wide. One weird thing I did notice is that powerslides emit a really high pitched shriek. (freaked out a couple of neighborhood dogs earlier this morning). I'm still in the break-in process, but I'll report back on durability if any issues come up.

I think I might size down my deck to 8.25

Add 3 washers on the inside of the axle, and you can get a little bit more width. I ride the 44's and a 8 3/8" deck like that. Any wider, you'll want 55s.

So I went back to germany and since my previous deck didnt fit my luggage I just left it in my parents house. Gonna be my "hometown deck".
Today I went to the skate store to buy a new one and just found the perfect deck that really spoke to me. My size, a brand that I've always been a fan of and with a great graphic that is related to germany, it was a no brainer.
It's probably wall hanger worth it, but I'm skating it anyway...
