And it's great.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of retarded kids and a van full of paraplegics.

Love 'em or hate 'em... The new Deafheaven video has, what I believe to be, a bandmember bombing hills in, what I assume is SF...

I like the band. I'm looking forward to the new album. I'm sure it will be more of the same, but that's OK.

Great record... heavy riffs. My favorite Bathory album, albeit probably most common answer, is “BLOOD FIRE DEATH”. Someone should skate to “for all those who died”

new YOB jam!

edit: i'm not that into it

You're not into that song or the whole album?

I think the album sounded great as a whole. The melody in the first song just got me hooked super hard and I really liked the first single aswell. I loved the simple and heavy repeating groove.

This just reminded me of one of the best releases of the year, new Will Haven:

"No Escape" at 19:20 with Mike Scheidt from Yob is something else!

In other news, I've been digging this new Rivers of Nihil a lot, I think its the Sax. Favourite tech/prog death release of the year so far.

Yeah, I'm not really a black metal fan so I didn't really know too much about them but this popped up and I was pleasantly surprised

Skatan, I haven't listened to the whole album yet. I've listened to both tracks that are out in advance (Our Raw Heart & The Screen). I have no good reason to not like them, they just aren't grabbing me. I do like that Will Haven song w/ YobMike though.

Give it a spin, you will dig it I'm pretty sure. My favourite song is the longest one, "beauty in falling leaves". The whole song is amazing but then it peaks in one of the most beautiful piece of music that I've heard from YOB.

For myself and how I view alot of music is this, Music is my drug it is a special thing that can transport my head into neatherrealms of imagination......
List of Genres and the top 5..
black metal,
Xasthur
Wedard
Watain
Darkthrone
Sargeist

Powermetal/NWBHM,
Exodus
Judas Priest
Kreator
Blitzkrieg
AngelWitch

Thrash,
Onslaught
Sodom
Iron Reagan
Wasted Youth
Ghoul

Death/Oldschool Metal
Autopsy
Coffins
Death
Grave
Repulsion

I like many facets of music and have a great appreciation for multitudes of music, different timing signatures and shit like that. However Pop Music is just garbage and I abhor that shit
something I have noticed and maybe it's my age but somethings in ife get greater and have more meaning when dialing back you expectations on newer music, Plenty of hard hitting and rough sounding folk music from the beginning of the 20th century. for example............ Buell Kazee my favorite

^You're from Modesto? Figures. I don't know if you're speaking to me? I am from all over and have lived in many places in Cali, I will say this I was there during the bands initial concept as they ran through a shitload of  local talent and members to where they settled with whomever joined the squad as of late. But I stand firm of my opinions they're decent musicians however the metalcore shoegaze content is kinda jacked and stupid much ike that garbage band pierce the veil........ Yes I am an elitist in certain facets and will have the same values when hearing a band. if it sucks and it doesn't wow me in the first 30 secs it's garbage.

New Thou x2 Thou and Cough are sick Cough played a show with Holly Hunt and my old band Steve Buscemi & the Wolves really ace guy's

It's nothing groundbreaking or especially unique, but the new Torture Rack record is solid. Fun, stupid Death Metal.

Just heard Vein for the first time. Solid Boston Metalcore. Once again, not unlike a lot of other stuff, but unique enough and an enjoyable listen none the less.
