slap's favorite black flag frontman

i know this is an incredibly played out topic in 2023 but i've been thinking a lot about it recently and couldn't find a thread about it so fuck it. I allowed everyone 2 votes because Fred Gall. I for one am a Keith Morris kind of guy. Dez Cadena is a close runner up. Ron Reyes is cool too, but I don't like Henry Rollins. What are your thoughts

Op, you ok man? Being real here, you doin alright?

Henry 1000% will always be my favorite, I think all the other vocalists before him were great especially Dez. But Rollins has a certain animalism that wasn’t there with the other frontmen.

Can someone explain in Fortnite terms?

Keith and Henry.

While you could bang your head against a wall arguing who did it best, the fact that they had multiple vocalists and remained relevant is impressive despite them all sounding different.

You can’t really say the same for The Misfits.

Buzz Osborne took Kurt Cobain to see black flag play my war for his first show and grunge was born. Henry slowed shit down and fucked with doom metal before it was cool. He backed saint vitus on touring when no one else was. Plus his lyrics were sick. Henry was more than punk.
No offense. I only ever hear old salty punks say Keith. So much of today’s hardcore, powerviolence, and sludge was influenced by Herny’s time with flag… not dez, not Keith.
Still lame that he was a dick to nardwuar

Skaters who know nothing of punk or music trivia will still reference “my war” after battling a hard trick. But they easily could have named “my war” “nervous breakdown” instead but they didn’t.

Op change the thread to “why side B of my war is better than anything else black flag did by miles”

I like maybe three songs at best, Bill Stevenson is a GOAT drummer though and a great producer

I get that Rollins was super influential to the development of punk and grunge and metal et cetera but I like Morris more because he sounds better in the context of the era of Black Flag that he was there for. I've got a ton of respect for what Henry's done to the music and the culture but for me it comes down to Keith sounds cooler, and since I don't really listen to powerviolence or sludge or whatever the fuck it doesn't really matter as much to me personally

Beck's Mother Bibbie Hansen was in  Black F*g but I don't think she is black or a man.

Their a rare band that every frontman has been sick right up to and not including Vallely who’s just too embarrassing to watch.

I saw last year Black Flag with Mike V as the front man and to be honest it was better than I expected, like his whole gimmick is to try to be a Henry Rollins clone but to be honest he does a great job doing it.

It's a tough one.

I usually vote Keith but I gotta go Dez. Always the big kids would say this and I'd disagree. Most of the certified muthas I know all vote Dez. It's just people when they hear him automatically think. Damn that was the best Henry song I've ever heard. What album is that?

Dez is a sweetheart too. I'd never vote against him.

Keith man. He's cool but I know a heap of bad bad things about him.

I liked his other band. The rats. Black flag kinda was a bummer. I almost broke the theremin. I fuckin should have. I should have picked it up looked right into their cold dead eyes and focused that piece of shit

Chavo IMO.

I did catch Flag with Rollin circa mid 86 and that was a decent gig, but seeing Rollin solo after BF was a stand out memory of shows I seen.
