Straight up though, this is pretty much a pop classic right here. I can imagine people in the 2000-teens and 20s just having this album playing during a barbecue or something and enjoying it without any irony.

the strokes are the worst band ever. it physically pains me that people use any portion of their short lives to pay attention to anything these douchebags who are the wal-mart of "rock" music have ever done.

You have the right to an opinion, but the worst band ever?
The"Wal-Mart" of rock music??
I think you're way off base... I realize they are mainstream and hip and teenage girls in Ohio like them, but This is It and Room on Fire are solid albums.
Replace the strokes with U2 or Nickleback or fucking Buckcherry or some shit in that statement and i get where you are coming from...

first of all, I dont care how "mainstream" or popular a band is . . .theres tons of amazing artists that are mainstream and popular (the rolling stones, the cure, and prince to name a few)
the strokes are the same shit as nickleback. just bad generic rawk music that appeals to people who like bands for how they look . . . . or just people who arent into music and cant see how the strokes are very far on the shitty side of the music spectrum.
those are very mediocre albums that arent worth listening to more than once or twice.

Love the Stones, like Prince sometimes, absolutely hate the Cure. Its all opinion.
I won't defend the Strokes to the death. They aren't a thoroughly amazing band in my book, but even putting out "mediocre" albums that are at least worth a few listens doesn't strike me as something a band does to be "very far on the shitty side of the music spectrum." I hear one Nickleback or Cure song a day at work and thats quite enough for me. I wouldn't be bummed at all to listen to the Strokes most of the day at work is all im saying..

if youre hearing a cure song at work along with nickleback, youre probably hearing mediocre and overplayed stuff by them. i shouldnt have mentioned them because they have made some really bad music over the years.

and if those albums are only bearable for a couple listens . . . .  thats pretty bad. a good album never gets stale.

false, they are pop genius.

I've had the first two albums for at least 5 years, I'm not tired of them at all. And they're definitely not Nickleback, they are snobby whining italian-american rich new yorker spoiled brats and they are amazing.

"If Wishes Were Horses" by Witchcraft

It's the song in Devin Appelo's part from PTT.
