Pretty solid picks, Paladin and one80, I'm gonna try to one up your choices though.

It's so fucking tragic that Phil Elverum's (The Microphones, Mount Eerie) wife passed away of cancer a few months back.
He was always one of my main favorites, and they had a young child together. I can only imagine what he's been going through.

This is an excellent B-Side from "The Glow pt.2"

Elliott Smith is probably my favorite non-instrumental musician. Really just incredibly humble, talented, and prolific.

This has always been one of my favorite lesser-known (?) ES tracks. It was recorded between either/or and XO, but never showed up on either album.

Mew has gotta be one of my favorite bands of the past ten years

This song even has some J. Mascis vocals, for those who might not listen otherwise

They just put out a good album like last summer.Check it out.

I've gotta admit that I don't adore the last two albums, like I did with "Frengers" and "And The Glass Handed Kites", but they still put out a lot of really complex, unique, and interesting stuff

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

Been listening to these guys a lot lately, it's a shame that there's no live footage of them from their original days.  I'd love to see the homemade synthesizer/oscillator in action.  However this more recent footage is surprisingly good (although I'd rather hear a live drummer).

George Brigman - Jungle Rot

found this guy today on spotify. very stooges sounding, but i guess he was a few years late to that sound and mostly overlooked in his time. really cool stuff though if you dig really raw, heavy rock and roll.
