i like some of their songs and i like johnny marr's guitar playing. i cant help but laugh at morrisy's sappy lyrics though. hes so literal and the way he sings is just impossible for me to take seriously. he makes me laugh more than he makes me cry.

She doesn't play with them anymore. I think she did around '14 when they toured, but her and Francis don't get along and she took her own private tour bus and didn't spend any time with the band.

It's a bummer, but who knows how many more chances I'll get to see the rest of the band play. I've watched a few of their newer sets on youtube and was a little underwhelmed because of the lack of energy, but I know its been 30 years since they were in their heyday. I'm sure that being there live will be better than watching it on youtube though.

well jb, i think it's high time you did. pixies are the best band ever but they're catalog is finite so it's ok to listen to other stuff. they got me through a lot of bad times.

I played last splash right after I made that post. Good stuff. Don't know why I waited so long. I'll check out Pod on the way to work tomorrow.

I've listened to a bunch of Black Francis albums and his stuff is great. Not sure why I never gave Kim a shot.

New Omni album. Might be one of my favorites of this year. Great post-punk stuff.

Rest in Peace Charles Bradley.  By far the best modern soul singer, quite an amazing/tragic/sad life but amazing that he managed to live his dream at the end of his life.

Charles Bradley can finally talk about his tragic life

Damn, I seen him summer 2014 and barely missed the chance to see him again last month. RIP. Was definitely an awesome performer. Speaking of another Daptones artist, Sharon Jones also passed last Nov. Gonna miss some that deep/feel-good soul music that came out from these artists.

This band is bonehead dumb and sounds pretty fresh to my ears.  Total bovver-skingirl/sharpie-looking cutie doing some sort of 70's punk/metal thing that's terrible but catchy at the same time:
