i don't if these artists are considered j-pop, but i've been listening to a lot of pizzicato 5 and old miharu koshi. the miharu koshi cd is called toy box vol. 1 omocha-bako - dai ichi maku from 1979. i can't understand a single thing.

pizzicato 5 has some funny lyrics.

ive never heard of miharu koshi. i just searched some of her stuff and i like the really standard pop tracks.  standard good pop gives me the best feels ever.

this myspace user has some cool japanese pop on his or her page. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=99397980

most modern j-pop sucks and makes me mad though.

hate, that band was really cool.  I'm always amazed that there are so many good bands down here that don't get much credit locally, but are really big other places (soilent green, eyehategod, goatwhore, acid bath, suplecs, etc).  It seems like all anyone cares about around here are shitty brass bands and horrible rap.

keep the recommendations coming (especially if you know of any stuff in the vein of Witchcraft/Dead Meadow)

anyway, i'm back on a Nick Cave/Black Heart Procession kick:
