boiling bushings
« on: April 23, 2007, 02:45:30 AM »
I'm sick of my bushings cracking.  I just bought some new ones.  How long should I boil them?  And should the water still be boiling when I put them in.  And do I need to skate as soon as I pull out the water and put them in my trucks.

i have the best "good post" to "shitty post" ratio

My method:

Bring water to a steady, rolling boil.

Put the bushings in the water and let them boil for 3-5 minutes.

Fish the bushings out of the water with a spoon.

Put them in your truck immediately.

Tighten your truck down as far as you can.

Go outside, make sure you have a skate key with you.

Push around, make sure to carve a bunch.

Loosen the truck until it feels right.

Voila.  Your trucks should feel pretty much broken in by now.

I only recommend this method for those who like loose trucks.
