j strickland's video editing savvy isn't really all that but dude keeps it real as hell and seemingly bows to none in the industry.

i'd like to see him do something with some of the old bootleg characters, that'd be tight.

Not sure if he edited the old baker stuff but it went right along with the image. It was a masterpiece. How he managed to bring out Drew's and Terrry's character and mesh it together was logical and not what people were doing at the time. Dude's the man!

i got to agree with you here, all the baker videos have been one thing that a lot of recent skateboarding videos haven't been, and that's ENTERTAINING.

edit: i'm gonna have to retract my statements about j not being a good videographer, for some reason i never made the connection with the baker videos.  fucking awesome.

knox in baker2g and just the flow of it all is some of my favorite shit from any video, ever.

i don't really know whats up with him but hes a pretty chill dude.
the first time i met him, he asked to crash at my pad but i said no. i didn't know who he was and i had just met the guy.
i dunno? i'm a paranoid new yorker, i don't trust nobody, thats how you get jerked here in the city.
anyway, if you're out there Jay, sorry dude.  next time i'll buy you a couple brewskis and give you place to crash.  ;D

while we're on the topic of the baker videos OG, (these issues might have already been discussed) was there ever actually a "director's cut" that you could send in a money order for as it said in the video? and what was the thing about getting sued during that 2 minutes of black space?
one-upping is rad.  so is beaming.  both so unquestionably identify the kooks...saves a lot of wasted time/small talk.  you instantly know who to avoid.

the 'director's cut' was real, and had footage of the young dudes skating a mini ramp for a vivid shoot or whatever. things heat up when greco falls and slaps a girl's ass, w/ signature strickland opiate slo-mo treatment.  8)

i'm pretty sure that was supposed to be jamie thomas's sponsor tape which featured him skating nude.

Baker 2g had one of the best soundtracks on a skate video and the video itself was pretty raw and fun. I remember reading some short inteview in Strength a few years back about what happend to Anthony Mosley and Bootleg and how he got "pro model" before he even had a video part and th reason was is he had faith in the kid. Not a lot of companies would do that now.

that's the word... raw. It was exactly that. It's something some artsy guys can't feel but it's straight to the punch and had that rough edge to it. I hope to see more strickland stuff in the industry cause what he did there was give it a face. After sight unseen I heard about certain companies wanting to hook me up but the only company I really wanted to get on was Baker. I asked Drew but didn't really know him or know how to ask him. He was cool. He said let's skate and get to know each other and go from there. It's too bad I didn't have the time to see if that would have worked.
