Man dead in Westminster crash
By SAM MILLER
The Orange County Register
WESTMINSTER – A 20-year-old Orange resident died in a traffic accident Friday night, when a driver making a left turn struck the man's car and sent it into a light pole, authorities said.
Chess Peters was driving a Toyota Corolla on Bolsa Chica Road. As he approached Loyola Ave, the 78-year-old driver of a Mercury sedan turned left into the intersection, striking Peters' car. The Toyota veered off the road and collided with a light pole.
Peters was pronounced dead at the scene. Westminster police are investigating the collision.
"(Peters') speed may be an associated factor in this collision," according to a release from police.
