EA Skate Demo
« on: August 25, 2007, 10:34:18 PM »
For 360 gamers, they have a demo on marketplace. You get to play for 30 mins, and it's actually a really good demo.
But as I expected, the game is so fucking hard to get used to. If you've ever played a Tony Hawk game, your basically fucked... Like me.
It's like, was to realistic. You have to be really good to master all the tricks. It's actually... a... a... challenge. Really kicks the shit out of THPS though.

It's damn hard to get used to. Really fun to play over and over to learn new tricks though.

This demo has been eating up most of my free time when I am not actually skating. It is really difficult at first, especially if you are used to Tony Hawk, but after you play for a while it gets a lot easier. My buddy that has a PS3 has been coming over every day just to play this. He is so bummed that they do not have the demo available for PS3 yet. EA really got it right with this, I do not think they can make a much more realistic skateboarding game then this one. I am so stoked on this game, I can not wait for the full version. I’m going to go play it right now.

the only thing that fucks me up is the grinds, everything else is fine...i like how challenging it is rather than all the tony hawk games

I borrowed a friends 360 for a day and pretty much figured most of it out after a few times playing through.  At first, flip tricks were super hard, but once I figured them out, it got alot easier.  Its nowhere near as easy Tony Hawk, but not as hard as everyone is saying.  I can't see anyone other than skateboarders playing this game though.  Its way too hard for the casual gamer.  I can see it having the same fate that Thrasher had.  I'm not going to run out and get a 360 today for the game, but hopefully around xmas time I'll have one.

...electronical??? haha. Just go to the Marketplace and find it in Demos. Takes a couple hours to download because its 1.03gb.

I think the game is a lot of fun, just really hard. A few things that bug me/take a lot of work to master is quarterpipe/transition stuff.

Also, the big question, has ANYBODY been able to gap from that ramp over the bushes? its pretty much impossible but set up like it would be "fun" to do tricks over.

I usually pick up speed from the snakerun first.

Then it's pretty easy to ollie over.

hmm weird, it seems to me like there were 2 quarterpipes that were supposed to be for speed on the gap im thinking of, and they didnt provide much speed at all.

Also, do you guys think the demo character is Koston? everybody says "Hey Eric" to you anytime you skate by them, and he resembles Koston a bit...but hes wearing Circas?

I usually pop from the snakerun into the smaller qp. Then you're lined up exactly for the bank.

Your just some created character in the game, I assume you're hearing "Hey Eric" because the bloke filming you says it whenever you run across one of the NPC skaters who are chopping about, the one called Eric.

So fun. I never could have imagined working for a trick in a skateboarding game since Tony Hawk.
