Not so much a new trick, but it sure felt like it.  I frontside 5050ed a waist high ledge off of flat.  Highest thing I've grinded ever.  So fucking hyped.

Not trying to hate but how can you not lipslide a flat bar when you can 50-50 a waist high ledge?

To answer you question, it feels much better on a ledge, and even better if you pop out half way.

None of you will realize how amazing this is for me...but I have been skating most of my life and have NEVER EVER been able to do Switch or Nollie flip tricks of any kind at all.  I bought a new board yesterday, but haven't set it up yet.  I learned switch flips while carpet boarding in my girlfriend's basement.  THIS IS SHOCKING!!!  I'm unbelievable stoked!!

Frontside lipslides always scared the shit out of me, but I learned that the secret is to lean into the tail when you start sliding and than just treat it like as a backside boardslide.

I fucking hate flat bars to be honest.  The most I've done on my flatbar is boardslide (frontside and backside).  I want to get better at skating flat bars.  I'm seriously trying.  By the way, I can lipslide fine on ledges (along with some fun variations to grind).  I just wanted to know from someone who recently learned how they did it on a flat bar so maybe I can apply those tips when the rain stops fucking me here.  I want feebles to be my birthday trick on my bar (please don't start chiming in how easy it is, I've had people skoach me on this, but I seriously can't put it together even though I can feeble to fakie on mini and feeble transfer on spines just fine).

I was you this time last year.  But I was skating alot with this guy, who obviously kills rails.

He told me that the key to skating rails is to just pretend it's a ledge.  It's ALL MENTAL.  About June last summer I just made myself spend about 20 minutes skating the flatbar at the skatepark everytime I went.  I forced myself to try all the tricks I can do on ledges and it slowly got less and less scary and I learned more and more tricks.  Now I LOVE FLATBARS.
