Transition is easier. You actually have to be able to ollie to skate ledges.

i agree somewhat--for me, transition is definitely easier, for the most part.  but you have to ollie for like half the tranny tricks.  don't be silly, cot-guh.

landed on some fakie hardflips, which are way easier than regular ones for me. I'm ready to just stop trying reg hardflips since the ones I do land I keep stomping the nose off the board.

definitely.

COTG, i'm beginning to feel bad for you, because you don't know the sheer joy of skating bowls and pools.  the best feeling in the world.  if i had to give up ledges forever, i'd drop them no problem to skate bowls all the time.

what i'm looking forward to: skating, very often, the new bowl at chelsea piers in nyc when i move there in a few months.  i skated it for a day when i visited new york this month, and that bowl fucking RULES!

nollie inward heel front nose and 5-0 kickflip out. only landed one of the latter, and it was super sketchy, but that's a trick i've wanted to learn for a while but never tried it. oh and in a game of ledge skate, i landed a nollie 5-0 front shove out of desperation at the end, so i guess i learned that trick too.

believe or not, backside nosegrinds.
i've done short crusty ones here and there but i did a super long clean one(atleast 20 feet, maybe more) on the outside of a curved ledge yesterday.  i did one from beginning to end and another one popping out early with about a foot to go at the end.  i've never done that long of a nosegrind in my entire life.  granted it took me mad tries and it was at the skatepark but i'm still pretty hyped on it.

i'm old and i'd take ledges over concrete bowls...it's all relative....I've got like 5 bowls within a half hour or less drive and i'd rather skate a decent ledge....they arent a dime a dozen....right now it's a two foot high hip that seems to be winning over everything.

Switch frontside lipslides, half cab bluntslides, and frontside noseblunts on a flatbar. I relearned kickflip 5050s and switch FS 5050s, too. I live for days like this.

One of my favorite places to skate is at a little French fry curb here in town... spent about four hours on it yesterday and got some kickflip front boards, a varial flip lipslide, and full cab back lip. If French fries become a discipline in the Olympics, I'm hoping to come through for the US, unless Ocean Howell enters.

As far as the ledge/bowl thing goes... just put the ledge on top of the lip and everyone can get some!
