Kickflip nosemanuals.
Boardslide yankovers- even filmed one at a real spot this weekend and im stoked about it!

Those are both pretty useful maneuvers. Any tips on yankouts? I haven't tried but seems like it could be interesting. Gonna have to grab melon though

The yankout feels so cool once you figure it out. I kept yanking on it while boardsliding but with no result, until I realized and made myself focus on jumping at the same time as I was yanking did it work. Don't know how you're gonna do it grabbing melon though.

Finally getting a hang of front slappies. They've always been alien to me but I've done a few of them my last couple sessions and I'm really happy about it.

Also did a new weird one on our park's bank. I did a fakie frontside pivot to backside pivot. I did one that felt balanced and cool.  8)

My buddy was trying no comply 270 switch front board on a little round rail so I tried no comply impossible lipslide but no dice. I took the no comply out and this dude talked me into really trying to land it. I don't really skate rails so it was nerve racking but I landed on it several times. Might try to power through and make it happen today

Been working on my mannies lately. Both of these were landed on the same manny pad (about 10 inches high, 8.5 feet long)

Nose manny nollie 360 shove-it to manny. I know it's nerdy and circusy, but I don't care, at my age I'll take it. I don't intend on ever filming one.

Manny front shove manny. I was super stoked on this one, landed it within a couple tries.

I always just do the nasal manny nollie shuv to manny. Nollie bigspin out instead would be sick, to switch manny would be amazing! I almost got nosemanny nollie 360 which would be tight?
Matt Eversole does a sick manny no comply front shove to manny in man down and I've been trying to make that one happen but no dice.

I can nollie bigpsin out of nose mannies no problem, however, to switch manny... my switch manny game just ain't there. Maybe one day. It's not like I've never tried, it's just so damn hard and the beer gut ain't helping.

I can no comply manny, but once the manny is locked in, I have trouble doing anything out. I've kickflipped out and snapped my tail trying to impossible out, but that's about it. Once i'm in better shape, I'll try it again.

how do your trucks not slip when popping/scooping? i can get back 180 out, but putting in more force for the bigspin makes the back truck shift away and the tail misses the ledge

need to get away from industry drama for a few mins:

- frontside powerslide to slappy tailslide (inspired by KA's backside version in purple). I can lock into them so I just need to add some more speed to get things sliding
- back 180 to switch 5050 on curbs. I don't fully slappie them but I'm not exactly ollieing onto the curb either, kinda just whipping them around
- front nose 270 gazelle out ala Shane Heyl. Fun little curb trick to do and I already loved nollie back 3s so...
- switch k-grinds to fakie on (tiny) ledges. had them years ago so not new, per se, but stoked to have them somewhat back in the bag

Nice! All of those tricks sound fun as hell. I need to work on ledge tricks but I’m really not that confident on ones that aren’t like beside a window or near a wall. No idea why but the best tricks I’ve done on ledges have always been in spots like that.

Last new trick I learned was Nollie bigspin heelflips, they feel so natural so much so that I’m thinking about extending the natural motion and learning that appleyard 360 bigspin heel version.
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

cheers, do take into account I turn 40 this year so none of these tricks are done with much speed or finesse, but yes, they are fun and that's all that really matters these days. I get the whole ledge next to a wall thing too, the one I (re)learned my switch crooks has a big pillar behind it which makes them easier, at least mentally. If ledge tricks are your kryptonite, flips tricks are mine at this age. I can't even fathom how you could get a nollie big spin heel flip to even start to pop...

Use to be when I'd learn a fs shuv if I tried bigspins it'd flip over and hurt my foot, which leads me to learning bigspin never could get my head around how to spin it with a helicopter Chico Brenes steez but it's all about that weird corner pocket and jumping high enough to where the board slaps under your front foot.
