Finally getting a hang of front slappies. They've always been alien to me but I've done a few of them my last couple sessions and I'm really happy about it.

I remember watching Jason Adams in Label Kills and rewinding the vhs over and over to try to figure out how he got onto those curbs.  I think those were the first ones I had ever seen and it looked like magic.  Such a cool fucking trick.

my backside ones are suffering but I landed 3 or so frontside ones yesterday. switch front tails on curbs are also making some sense to my old body...

Impish sausage is definitely gonna blow up as a euphemism this year

On the bank to ledge (the bookshelf) at the park I’ve always been able to do flip fs 5050 and 5-0, and pretty decent at switch fs 5050s, as soon as my 29 year old frame gets a more consistent switch flip I’m gonna do one into a switch 5050.

Last new trick was bs 180 5050 half cab. Yes it was on a curb on a hot summers night and I was goddamm stoked.

I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

Rad, keep at it.. I got into this by accident just playing around with nollie tailslides, itas basically the same movement if that helps at all?

180 nollie sw crooks is super fun, one of my favorites. if you're confident in your sw crooked grind then it's basically the same thing just with a different approach. you over turn, make sure your truck goes over the edge and pray that you lock in just right, at least that's the stage I'm at...

recently I've been having a lot of fun with switch 360 flips that I just relearned earlier this month, and I just got back nollie backside flips on flatground after not even trying one in over ten years, just because of Shin Okada's in this that stoked me out:

Love that trick but sadly I'll never try it again. I broke my ankle/leg on one I got into tailslide foot slipped off ankle rolled and I sat straight down on my leg. Hate injuries

relearned fakie back heels, but more importantly been really focusing on keeping my arms under control while doing tricks and hills lately.

Confessing that I just learned switch ollies and nollies like 2 months ago. Got switch front 180s down yesterday. I'm 35 and it feels cool to be learning new tricks at this age.

Learned 2 today after going a while without any.
First one was boardslide frontside 270 pop out on a double sided ledge. Was trying to pop out to fakie and overdid it and rolled away regular. Figured I’d try again to see if it was a fluke, and did it again.
The next one was fakie ollie to switch frontside crook. Felt like a fucking badass doing it, its a classic one.
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”
I quit skating for a time due to piling out

Just today skating the bank to ledge at the park learnt a few different tricks.
Was watching a bunch of Matt Bennet parts before going skating and ended up doing a fakie fs 5-0 across 3/4sof the ledge and pop fakie fs 180 out and roll down the bank regular. So excited from that one, the trick felt so good and is certainly the most difficult thing I think I’ve ever done. Next time I’m going to pop  back to fakie so it’s a full straight on trick.
 :-*

Also got some stalk tricks. Some more complex than others but the above and below tricks led to me having a fucking excellent day skating
Fakie tail stalk flip out.
Fakie pivot pop out to fakie
Bs 5-0 stall too.

Ooh I gotta try that. I was trying lip front 270 and switch board 270 on the little manny pad at the courthouse fountain the other day and got pretty close. That’s the perfect ledge for all those late 2000s ledge slide era weirdness.

wallie to nosegrind. at our spot we've got a mobile 'wallie' [idk what else to call it] and i brought it next to a ledge for 50-50 in a line and since i'd done it w/oiut the line a few wks ago it wasn't too hard, i battled it to nosegrind.
i did one or 2 that tapped my tail on the way out and a clean nosewheelie but basically i'm calling it a new trick. got dark so i didn't film a good one but i will tomorrow.
wish i had fs wallies so i could maneuver into bs ledge tricks w/ them. maybe some day?

Nollie back 360 heel fakie on a bank. Rolled away fully fakie.
Sick, Cliff did the sickest one at a Blind demo at 8 Ball way back when.

I've never done one all the way around on a bank, but used to be able to kinda cheat em on hips lol, thanks for the reminder.
