sketchy, sketchy, sketchy! i don't have a large bag of tricks, but i can do them on any terrain. i learned skateboarding on shitty, unappealing shit. therefore, it evens out the playing field for me. i like picking my brain to figure out a spot with rocks everywhere, grass landings or at some absurd angle.

Im not sure Ive ever skated a spot considered "smooth and perfect" in my life.

Besides a skatepark of course.

Landing tricks at sketchy spots feel better.

i hate when its so smooth that if you land the least bit sideways you powerslide out and eat shit.

thats why i had a hard time skating flatground at stalinplatz and sants. the spots are amazing but it takes practice to get used to such slippery floor. not only getting used to the slipperyness, but you also got to land your tricks perfect, no room for errors.
i feel more comfortable on a spot where i know of its imperfections and therefore am ablo to co-op with it.

I have a really hard time believing that most of you would like to skate something fucked up rather than something perfect. There's a different between shitty ground and tons of traffic that makes you only able to get 1 try every 10 minutes and spots that are just hard to skate. I'd much rather ride on smooth ground than a bucha rocks. That being said, it's really cool to skate something weird that most people wouldn't think of, but that doesn't mean it's gotta be all fucked up and aggrevating to skate.

Yeah, if the debate was out of the ordinary spots vs. basic spots, I like the original shit, but perfect vs. sketchy? These words do have meanings people.
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”
I quit skating for a time due to piling out

You'd have to be regular to prefer a rough ass spot. Fuck that.
One of my favorite lines is the one of spiked meth drnewton does off of lou pearlmans viarga and toddler-blood induced erection that finally puts that bitch 6 feet deep.

i feel like most of the time i find janky/weird spots more fun than something that's "perfect"

smooth spots over here, sketchy spots in the us
because smooth spots here aren't blow out. at all

i actually discovered this one spot last year and it looks better that love park.
and still no-ones skated it.
granite for days... stairs and gaps of every size, water gaps, hundreds of ledges, a couple banks here and there, and super line-worthy. all virgin.

i wont ever tell where.

Like people have said, tricks landed at a sketchy spot feel better, but growing up in Glasgow where it's pretty much a choice between very rough or slightly less rough, I'd kill for a nice set of 10 foot long blocks on perfectly smooth, poppy ground. Gwoing up skating sketchy shit does make your skating a lot more adaptable and versatile though.
This is bizarre it is like he is just taking the Krew/Supra approach to marketing, but using it in his own pursuit of sponsorship letting the lifestyle shots do all the work.
