Clyde Singleton Apresh
« on: November 28, 2007, 01:01:38 PM »
I just wanted to use this opportunity to talk about THE GREAT ONE.

The reasons why he is so rad are:

1. Started his career from the ground up back in the day aka HISTORY
2. Can talk shit and back it up aka A DOER not just a TALKER
3. Funniest man in skateboarding right now
4.  Most intelligent comments based on his observations of every day things (though weed might influence   some of it).
5.  Says things that people want to say, but are afraid to

There was one article in skatebard rag or whatever it's called where he calls out pro's that made a comeback.  Not specifically, but i think he was calling out dudes like the MUSKA specifically.  The most dissapointing comeback ever.  He's only a notch above the whackness in that "How to Go Pro" video.  And to the pros like donny barly and whomever that think skateboarding is not a job were you get coverage to maintain your status, fuck you.  We don't want you anymore leeching off the industry.

But this is about clyde.  Thank you brother for your journalistic integrity!

Right?

I think that's the geneous behind it.  I think that some of the greatest american writers contradict them selfs in order to grow artistically.  The only down side to him I hear is that he believes that he is really the 'smartest' dude out there.  you can be relatively intelligent, but being the 'smartest' is whole other thing.

I dont know what that fool was talking about with Barely and stuff but yeah ive always liked Clyde, especially when he skated Ny in the mid 90s. Is always pretty funny to listen to him and read what he writes. Enjoyed all his sections yeah I like the dude.

dude is only funny half of the time. sub-par writer and even worse of a skater. last part didn't have one line in it.  he's one of those dudes you can never win an argue against and i find that almost as boring as his skateboarding.
Nothing is cool.

Don't like him. Remember that article where he called out people with only 10 tricks in their bag? Funny thing is he left his name out of the article

Ryde or Die part:

Anymore questions?

his aesthetics part was complete garbage. not a single line in that muthafukkka. id rather see hometown hero at the park than this shit ever again. the only skater's worth even mentioning on that video are rob welsh & john igei. they saved that video from being a failure.

edit. i like his blog

Don't really agree with you there.  I think it's probably his last full part he'll ever have, and best.  It's raw, powerful, and refreshing.  He's not the best, but by far not the worst.

And yes, the blog is awsome.  Kinda over this whole cut and paste thing that people call their observation of the world, aka blogging.  Any asshole can repost someone elses shit on their own page and call it good.  I like some more literary content than some youtube of a dude who gets hit in the crotch.

His blog is interesting. He had a good part in 20 shot sequence. I really liked that one. Talks to much though but it's funny sometimes.

He needs to go back to blacking out and pissing himself.  I liked his Trilogy and 20 shot parts, but nah, that's about it.

Minority Report is probably one of my favorite videos of the decade. It even has a Winston-Salem spot in it.
One of my favorite lines is the one of spiked meth drnewton does off of lou pearlmans viarga and toddler-blood induced erection that finally puts that bitch 6 feet deep.

the front blunt in asthetics was the only thing memorable he ever did. he seems like a really shitty person to have to be around.

I'm going to agree. I don't remember anything about aesthetics except for Welsh's part though, and I watched Clyde's part earlier today.

progression and changing/maturing doesn't mean contradiction in a few articles times. especially when he talked about not being a black skater and just a skater before and during his advertising for minority report as a video all of black/hispanic/asian skaters.
