i agree with sanch that hating on pushing and hands is gay, but i do like the fact some guys can get by on pure style because it separates skateboarding from ugly shit like bmxing. a bad benihana will always look better than an x-up or a 360 on a bike.
i think hate helps the industry in the sense that companies know exactly who they are marketing to, and exactly who to put on their teams to broaden their market. jamie holds his companies down perfect. older skaters wouldn't be caught dead with garrett hill board but nobody would be ashamed of a rattray board. and mystery has it all for everyone, eldridge, murphy, and carlin wouldn't be in the same sentence if not for mystery.
i'm not saying being a dick to skateboarders you don't know is a good thing, but its good that we don't rush to become aquainted or compliment each other.
and everyone should hate on every little thing when it comes to the internet. it is the best place to do it.
