This is a delicate matter.
Lemme flex my trick nazi skillz...
On ledges, there's crooks and nosegrinds, front and backside, because claiming to over-crook a ledge just sounds stupid, like a fs suski*. On rails if it's round, I feel it almost neccesary to crook it On rails if it's square, you can get away with crooks, nosegrinds, and overcrooks. I've seen AVE do some pretty mean, definitive "nose grinds" on rails.
If it's intentionally an over-crook, it should be credited as one.
*front suski's don't exist. People have always done crooked frontside 5-0', over-all, they're probably more common than 5-0's, that's why they don't exist. The Suski is only it's own trick because of Aaron Suski's suski grind in that old On video, simply because calling it a "double-set back 5-0 and back 5-0 fakie" doesn't get the point across of how sick it was.
But there are the exceptions. In his ryde or die part, joey pepper does a nice back over-crook on a bump to bleacher, but that's the only case of a really good, intentional back over-crook on a ledge I could think of.
Salads, same rules apply as over-crooks.
