I have these right now, they got soft fast, but I loved the way they loook.

My first skate shoes were the converse with one star, and a small stripe, with a 35 degree angle on it, the ones Marcus Mcbride wore in trilogy..anyone know the name, coudlnt find them.

neither shoe had much to any board feel, but i just used to it and just loved them. a shoe is a shoe, more or less.
You seriously skated these? I understand the other ones, that sole looks like it would work, but these look completley unskateable

I used to skate some K-swiss.  Other than that, I had some Adidas hiking/cross trainers that looked horrible for skating, but we're actually one of my favorite pairs of shoes to skate.

I like this thread...

I always wanted to try some one stars but i can never really find them....I can't really fit into adidas because I'd wear a 12 and a half and they dont make it
I had some puma suedes but they gave me terrible blisters
I like to skate in vans mostly but I've been thinking about trying to get some non sktae shoes...
has any body skated those mid top converse 'weapons'?

on an unrelated shoe note though,  I think vans should make one of those new versions (like that no-school,or avera) of the skate high with a puffier tounge...

cant beat these and the old school leather ones, jack purcell's will beat the shit out of your feet but once you get use to it, they grip the best, i used to order these from converse, it was always a bitch to get them but damn! they are good.

I guess Chuck's and Vans slip-ons aren't really "skate" shoes and I've skated in those plenty. (though I prefer the "sk8-hi"). Once upon an ancient time I used to wear those wino shoes from kmart and skated in them, such as in this fresno ark pic from early 80s: (shortish shorts, duct tape toe caps, stinkbug boneless... not a good look...)
