i've got four of those speakers in my room and they shake the windows at halfway volume. the record player, reciever, and speakers are all at least 5-10 years older than me as well.

Just got a turntable for christmas with a USB output for recording songs onto your computer. I don't think I ever need to buy CDs again.

I just dropped like $140 on records on boxing day. Vinyl is definitely my preferred method of listening to music. They sound infinitely better than cd's and I like the more hands on method of playing them as well as the aesthetic of the records themselves. My dad's an audiophile so I've got all this awesome equipment for free. I've only been collecting them for like a year and half though so my collection is pretty pitiful.

i scooped a Doug E Fresh vinyl at goodwill in salisbury NC, 1985 single release, A side the show, B side La di dadi. Got it for free.

There's a guy at the dirt mall who sells some pretty good vinyl, although his prices are outrageous. I've scored some good miles, monk, and coltrane from him after bickering over the price for a while.

The prize of my collection is Dead Kennedys-Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables, 1st US pressing, Cherry Red Records, Orange Sleeve, still in shrink wrap. free as well.

vinyl has a richer sound then mp3 but 320 kbs is pretty close when it comes to the quality of the sound

vinyl is such a good thing to invest money in. Buying a 7inch a week for a few bucks builds up a collections pretty fast. Not to mention how amazing everything sounds when comparing to say mp3's

You do. Without a phono stage it ain't gonna get any louder than that. You can get a phono preamp for like $30.
