Nike Koston SB vs DC Cole Lite S

Well, I have both (neither skated), so....


Impact support: Cole

Heel lock: Cole
weight: negligible

overall comfort: Koston - there is a unique lining to the back of the suede - the area your foot contacts

boardfeel: Koston...I think. It just feels like there isn't as much material between your foot and the ground.

protection/durability: both of the uppers feel VERY sturdy. The suede used in both is heavy-duty.

I did notice that the toecap of the Koston offers more protection (just by hitting my feet with my knuckles) in the event that the board land on your toes - something that has been the bane of my skating since I started wearing one-piece toecaps.

And, if I'm not mistaken, there is an additional layer of suede in the ollie area on the Cole's, which would double that area's life.


Overall: buy both.

Regardless whether you like their shoes or image, Fallen is still skater-owned. Thomas is a real dude, who really skates, built black box from nothing, and he takes care of his riders.

So, yes, I'm ok with someone who talks shit on Nike and supports Fallen.

Not that I've never owned a pair of Nikes; I still appreciate and wish the best for pretty much all skater-owned companies.

P.S. Fallen was my shit back in the day. I think I had, like, a pair of rippers, a pair of troopers, and 3 pairs of Patriot II's - protect yo feet real good.

why the fallen hate? skater owned, sick team (they gave jack curtin a shoe, goddamnit), the quality of their shoes is on point, same with the price, and since chris cole left the wacky ass colorways have been reduced too. skated a lot of fortes and slashs (and soon the curtin), liked everyone of them.

I'm on my first pair of Fallens, but I'm loving the FLX sole on the 76s. I also have a pair of Rookies that I'm going to skate next and they feel very solid for a vulc shoe. And I really like the paneling on the Rookies. I think releasing the Rookies with the 76s's sole would make for a great shoe.

What's weird is that where I live there are hardly any skaters.  The two I've seen were wearing Vans and Adidas.  However I've seen TONS of Fallens and it's all on MMA/Tapout dudes or the SoCal looking motocross bros.  I don't even know where they find them but they all love Fallens and the more generic PacSun DCs

I saw a pair of cardinal-red Fallens on a bum the other day. Still way more respectable than 93% of the shit bros on my campus usually wear, or the scooter contingent's odd-colored-flourescent-lace NYC83 fuckfest.
