Saw Snowpiercer on some random movie channel last night during a bout of insomnia. I was pretty stoked on Tilda's teeth.

Did you check out "Show Me A Hero"? He's really good in that too.
Didn't even know that show existed to be honest, I'm definitely gonna check out watched a trailer and it looks like it's really good.

Pretty sure I posted about "Sicario" in here a little while back, which everyone should definitely check out if you haven't yet, but apparently it's getting a sequel, with most of the original cast even:

Really excited for this

Has anyone seen Knight of Cups yet? I'm pretty into Malick's work, but To the Wonder was a bit too much. This new one worth seeing?

Yeah I actually watched it with my friend last night.
Another friend had told me not to watch it, but I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.
Would def say to check it out, if you like Malick's stuff in general.

Saw Lost in Translation for a second time few days ago. Well I watched it some years ago and I was bored and ditched it half way through. This time I was really amazed, great movie.

Sicario was alright. Emily Blunt was fucking obnoxious though and pretty much ruined that movie for me.

Saw Spotlight and Hateful Eight this weekend. Spotlight was solid, but lacked any real conflict to that defines great drama. I went in apprehensive of Hateful Eight, as I think Tarantino's best work is behind him, but it was surprisingly really, really good.

Way too many plot holes in Sicario...

Hey sorry if this is a faux pas, but what torrent sites do you guys use?

I buy dvd's from my favorites (Charlie Kauffman, P.T. Anderson, Cohen Bros., anything P.S. Hoffman, etc.), and used copies are stupid cheap, but some stuff you just don't want a physical copy lying around.

I've been using kat.cr for years probably, but now I'm getting an error message that it's a "phishing site"?
What do you think the deal is with that? And do you guys have any more torrent sites to recommend?

You can usually find some good stuff on zmovie.tw,  movie4k.to -- these aren't torrent sites, but, they got a lot of good shit you can just hit play and watch.

man oh man! sicario was somethin else huh? very enjoyable. very real. medellin. dude that shot where he rolls into the interrogation room with the jug of water and you catch a glimpse of the drain on the floor...i love that shit. rinsing blood? waterboarding? benecio is the man.
binging on library film resources so bear with me

godzilla-the original. now i did not know this and its pretty cool if you care, but i popped this in while my buddy was in from out of town, he dropped some knowledge. apparently the film was a response to the attack on hiroshima, and right after he says this the film starts; japanese men on a boat, a flash of white bright light, wind, fire, and a giant monstorous howl. godzilla is the bomb. mind blown.

slacker
richard linklater made this one, you probably know one of his later films dazed and confused.
man this film was great entertainment. no true linear plot nor main characters, it just jumps around from person to person some propose interesting ideas and a lot are just full of bullshit but dude this one is worth it haha. the way the film is made takes you out of the watching a movie mode and sort of makes you participate in the conversation.

repo man.
again. so fucking cool dude of course it clicked when the logos/anti hero medium board series text popped up. brilliant.

hateful eight
how cool that most of that film was shot inside one cabin? great acting in this one. tip of the hat to one of my favorite directors

Hail Caesar was good. Not their best, somewhere between Burn After Reading and A Serious Man for me, but all the Ye Olde Hollywoode stuff was done really well, Josh Brolin was goddamn amazing, and the guy who played Hobie is going to be super famous.
