I watched Seven for the first time and really enjoyed it. I already knew the ending because of pop culture references to it but I don't think it ruined it for me. I still somehow felt surprised. This was the first time in a lot time that I've watched a movie and not thought "alright how much longer until this is over." I'm surprised to read that a lot of people fun it overrated. Thoughts?

i think i saw it five years ago for the first time and wanted to kick myself for not watching it earlier! still love to watch it every once in a while!

thought there was a documentary thread but i can't find it. for anyways, how democratic and socialist these inmates were under oppression is inspiring and maybe if trump is so bad as everyone says it'll revolutionize the country [but i am guessing it'll be same as ever].

Arrival was one of the best films I've seen this year. Saw it on the back of just liking Dennis Villeneuve's other stuff so I didn't know much about the story going into it.

i don't know if this is actually 'good' but i knew skrappy and blackbird and sarah so it was neat for me to watch and if anyone is curious about trains it's got some nice gondola and grainer scenery shots. philosophies expressed are a bit trite and i'm skeptical of the story about dude pulling out 7 of his own teeth like an honor bound yakuza squaring a debt w/ a severed finger but who knows?
never knew skrappy had a brother, christmas seems like a real rad guy.

watched a documentary on michael alig aka party monster. he got out after 17 yrs and was joking about the murder but that whole scene seemed shallow so it wasn't too shocking but still poor taste.
watched another doc on stretch and bobbito. was pretty good, i was dimly aware of them outside of the zoo york vid. had some of your favorite rappers but alas, no mention of keith nut who if you remember was

Saw Manchester by the Sea.  I became a Casey Affleck fan after Jesse James... and he is just as awesome in this.  Rough story, but great movie.

Just saw La La Land the other day and it was awesome. I'm not a musical guy, but it's a great story and beautifully shot. All the singing and piano playing is all done by the actors as well, which is amazing. I'm not gay, but I'd marry Ryan Gosling in a heartbeat.

we got a firestick for christmas and this was one of the first movies i watched on kodi. im a big fan of the original and i thought the sequel was pretty terrible to be honest. same jokes as the first but poorly written and half as funny.

I kinda hate musicals and I wanted to leave 15 minutes into La La Land, but after it was all over I must say.. It's one of the best films I've ever seen. Fucking masterpiece
