Finally saw this last night:

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

this was actually a lot better than the last two that came out...  if you follow the storyline and have seen the rest before seeing it you will like it.  otherwise you'll probably be bored:

every other decent movie i watch seems to get mentioned before i can post it up.  public enemies, drag me to hell, etc.  just trying to post some that are good that not everyone and their grandmother went to to see already.

not every good movie is a new release

and state of play is pretty much made for grandmothers, its like some espionage thriller starring ben affleck, word

Mike Leigh has done some rad films. I'd recommend this one, it's really good.

Beguiling as fuck. Defnitely one of the best things Tarantino has ever done - this is him at his more sincere. And the cast is to fuckin die for.

Seeing this on 35mm is definitely one of the most visceral experiences you'll ever have. Shit. I had a headache within the first 10 minutes. I heard it took 11 months just to come up with a rough cut edit. The fact that the film was shot in over a dozen different formats is reason enough to peep it.

I'm a member of a very small group of people who thinks this movie absolutely fuckin rules. Definitely in my top 10 favorites of all time.

Best movie of the 90's You can quote me on that.

It's criminal how mainstream America let this one fall through the cracks (but not at all surprising). This unjustly underapprecated gem is sure to gain a cult following. Good absurdist humor in the vein of The State

Forget what i said earlier. THIS is the best movie of the 90's.

yeah you are...i think...i dunno, i saw this movie about 10 years ago and thought it sucked real bad.   Is this the one where the cut the dudes peepee off at the end?   Oh well, rose has hot boobs which we get to see a few times, so that's alright.

What was that other one made by this guy that was like that?  I think it was called "nowhere".  Yeah, that one was messed up too.

yeah, "Nowhere" is the final installment of Gregg Araki's "Teenage Apocalypse Trilogy" (the first being Totally Fucked Up, and the second being Doom Generation).

I remember watching Doom for the first time and being sorta put off by it...but after subsequent viewings it definitely grew on me. If any movie out there truly captures the spirit/ethos of the 90's, it's this one.

The Shawshank Redemption
The Assassination of Jesse James
Once Upon a Time in the West
A Clockwork Orange
La Haine

Finally watched the Assassination of Jesse James again, hadn't seen it since theatres. Just as great as I remembered. Plus after seeing Moon and The Hurt Locker I appreciated the supporting cast a lot more.

i didn't say he did. I should've been more precise and said it was the best thing he's ever been associated with. Whatevs....no hate from me. I like anyone who likes True Romance.
