i just watched alien and now im going to watch unforgiven, both rad movies
i think the next time i go to the video store ill try an find big trouble in little china... if they have it... the emperors new groove and probably tsubaki sanjuro
[close]
sanjuro is awesome,my fav kurosawa.
[close]
I think the one he's talking about is a remake of the Kurosawa:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0905366/
[close]
it's impossible,no one can preform like mifune and nobody on earth can direct like kurosawa.
i'll check it tho,i hope it's a spoof or somethign like that
[close]
Oh, I wasn't commenting on the quality.  I myself have only seen the original.
[close]

no i want to watch the original, tsubaki sanjuro is the japanese tittle
Right on.  I would say to watch Yojimbo right before watching Sanjuro.  You won't be disappointed.

So I couldn't remember this movie I used to watch growing up at my grandma's house when I'd visit her, we would always go to the same video store and I'd get the same movie, well, found out it was on TV this morning, so I watched it, god, it brought back some good memories:

Adam Dyet is the black jellybean of skateboarding.

I watched Seven Samurai last night... this movie is a fucking triumph of cinema and I dare say human civilization. I'm honestly sad because I feel like no other movie can top it for me.

If you're craving something other than boobs and explosions, check it out.

for Kurosawa fans, I just watched Samurai Rebellion by Kobayashi.
Toshir? Mifune is the lead in this, the guy from sanjuro and yojimbo etc.
It's about a family living under tyrannic feudal order in the 1700s.

I enjoyed it, though it could be slow at times. I'm gonna check out
'hara-kiri' when it gets here monday. I love this era of film.

At first I didn't like it, but now I think The Expendables was just about the worst movie I have seen this year.
i know its gonna be a mindless action flick but is it even fun to watch? i was thinking about catching this since i enjoy corny action movies every once in a while.

I love mindless action flicks and a lot of these actors were in a lot of films I loved as a kid.  This one is just TOO mindless.  Here are my issues:

1.  The first five minutes ruled.  But after that, it slowed way down and had some of the worst dialogue ever, that wasn't even bad in a humorous way.

2.  The majority of the fights were way too short and shot way to close (I am guessing to disguise some of the choreography, these dudes are pretty old).

3.  The villain sucked.

4.  The CGI blood was some of the worst I have ever seen.  Like, so bad it was distracting in parts.  Corn syrup works just fine and always has.

5.  A lot of the guys were more or less just cameos and when the funniest lines come from Jet Li, you know there are some issues.

I mean, I am trying not to sound like I thought this was going to be some cinematic masterpiece, because even the movie knows it isn't going to be a monument to film making, but it was kinda just boring.  I could've edited the whole thing down to about 30 minutes and been happy.

They should have just called this movie Spike TV: The Movie because that is all it is.
right on. guess ill get my campy entertainment elsewhere.

My cousin bought Raging Bull the other day, and I know anything with Deniro/by Scorsese is damn good, so with the two, you know it's fucking good. Really stoked.

I saw the graduate for the first time yesterday. LOVED it.

Aso saw HaraKiri by Masaka Kobayashi. Another samurai
flick, but not as light hearted as Kurosawa. Worth cheking
for sure.

For anyone who wants to watch Shogun Assassin, don't do it! Rather watch the six original Lone Wolf and Cub films! Shogun Assasin doesn't do them any justice!
