about to go to the midnight screening of Piranha 3D for some blood, guts, and tits
You either die a hero or live long enough to watch yourself become the Berra.

Apparently its got more blood use than Brain Dead, if so, I'll see it. I'm a big fan of the original.

I watched Citizen Kane last night, it was alright but a little disappointing considering people call it the "best movie ever made". Maybe I watched it with too high of expectations.

Same here, watched it 2 years ago in my Film studies class, I hated it. Couldn't stand Casablanca either.

Surprisingly never heard of street trash, looked it up on youtube and read the synopsis on wikipedia, sounds like a Troma movie, I liked what I saw though.

Orson Welles made that film when he was what...22? I mean, what the fuck are most guys doing today at 22? Masturbating?

I thought Citizen Kane was a very watchable movie. There were LOTS of innovative things about that film in terms of narrative and story and the technical shit.

Yeah, as far as film craft goes, it's pretty much unfuckwithable.

Correct, I think people get confused about Citizen Kane's reputation. It's known for being one of the most well-crafted films of all time, not really "the best movie ever". Big difference there.

who cares. it's all a matter of opinion anyway. "well-crafted"
could certainly mean a number of different things.

Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man

I still haven't felt I was ready to rewatch Blue Velvet just yet.  That shit deserves some time and with no distractions

I agree, any Lynch film for me takes like complete focus. Especially Eraserhead. That took a few tries.

^ Casino is always a good one.  You typically can't go wrong with the Scorsese + De Niro collaborations.

Real slow, watched it once I think. Not saying focusing in on them is a bad thing, I just seems like you miss once scene you're kind of lost. Mulholland drive is a good example. I do think Blue Velvet is my favorite of his work.

I always thought that "well-crafted" in this case meant that it's more of a technical achievement than an artistic one.

Yeah, I've been interested in it since I was around 14 or 15.  I'm going to school for it.

Confession: I've got my fantasies of being a filmmaker.

I think I'm too much of a coward to simply go for it though. Ironic isn't it? Film making today has never been more accessible thanks to digital cameras and editing software, but at the end of the day, that shit still takes some balls.

I wish I could. I really would like to maybe do something with soundtracks in film. Don't think I'm capable of writing a script or anything.

What year was that all-star game in your signature? Looks like '03, MJ's last one.

My sig is from 03'.  I'm originally from Illinois and a huge bulls fan, just thought that pic was super awesome.  As for writing scripts their is a program that is free you can download at this address: http://celtx.com/download.html called 'Celtx'.  It's really simple and almost the same as using this screenwriting program called 'final draft'.  Just start off trying to right like 10 page shorts, and gradually progress on to more and more.  The more scripts you download/read the easier and easier it will get to write.  Eventually it becomes kinda like second nature.

yeah im just starting out film making and ive found scripts to be the hardest part of it (assuming you want to write and direct). i tend to start a story that im psyched on then ditch it when i come up with a even greater idea. i have countless unfinished scripts laying around. its definitely more likely to finish a good script when you have a burning story to tell rather than just wanting to write a screenplay.
