black swan was meh at best

really?  I downloaded it last night and am planning watching it tonight after work.  I'm a little apprehensive though, as when people are all about a movie like everyone is about this, I'm bound to think otherwise.

I really enjoyed it.

This was amazing, really funny and thought provoking. Charlie Chaplin was one of the first major voices to speak out against Hitler.

started black swan.this whole cam on the shoulder documentary shaking tv series low colors thing has to stop.
it doesn't add more realism or intimacy it just make movies look like shit.
i guess it's cheaper and all but i don't want to sit in a theater feelin like watching tv.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

Can't wait. I might actually go to the movies. Still pretty bummed on the pg-13 rating though. Not that it matters or anything. Just heard something along the lines of it having Traditional Coen's gore pre MPAA rating. Pulling eyelids, and gouging eyes. Something to that degree. Still have been looking forward to this for years. The novel is pretty fantastic.

I'll ignore strangefires - who the fuck comes in here spoiling movies ever? - and just say that obviously it's a recommendable film. I haven't read the book or seen the original, but for a revenge plot it sort of takes on a weird, inconsistent tone. That's literally the end of my gripes though, everything else is just really, really solid. Probably won't go down as too many people's favourite Coen brothers movie, but all the stuff they usually do so well is there. The dialogue is probably the best part of it.

The trailer is really misleading. I guess they probably had an easier time showing it as an action movie than trying to show the deadpan humour. It's really more of a dark comedy than anything.

Could someone please explain me the ending of Barton Fink ? I reckon John Goodman symbolizes the devil and that in some way, Fink sold his sould to him in a Faust-esque way to gain wisdom/inspiration. That's just my guess.
But what the fuck does that woman on the beach resembling the painting at the end mean ?
