just watched a pre-screening of The green hornet, and I loved it! Seth Rogen delievered again, and if you liked kick-ass you'll love this one too.

very topical of you, looking forward to your poster  ;)

Good football (soccer) movie. Michael Sheen is great, as is Timothy Spall. Some of you football fans will like it, Mooley check it out. I went back and watched some of the original footage of Brian Clough, Sheen looks exactly like him.

Check it out though its a good one

Gave it a go the other night. Definitely better than the average sports movie, but I was pretty put off by all the lovey dovey dialogue between Clough and his assistant. Just a little bit too melodramatic I guess, but definitely solid.

saw 'bleu'. hated it. wondering if i should even bother to begin 'white'.

i really didn't buy the story at all. the woman's actions make no sense.
the stupid blank screen mozart motifs the blatant and expected metaphors
made me feel absolutely nothing. i found it to be incredibly out of touch with
reality, and a shitty boring french film that masturbates all over itself.

A couple I saw lately that were delicious...

This old one by Ozu called "I was born, but..."  It's about new kids in town getting bullied by this gang of nogoodniks:

English down and outters pissing about and arguing with each other.  Both these movies are sort of everyday slice of life type deals, just in different contexts.

Also, seconding the Bad Boy Bubby recommendation, and True Grit was a good time.

The last good movie I saw was a review of a movie.   Harry Plinkett's 100+ minute review of star wars episode 3 was pure bliss from beginning to end.

watch it here:   www.redlettermedia.com

I was a big fan of The Host, so I watched Bong Joon-ho's latest. He's really good at telling a touching, even funny family story that's also really creepy and fucked up at the same time. Fans of Hitchcock would enjoy.

the host was pretty cool even though i hate cgi. i didn't understand the symbolism going on,
but i did enjoy the cinematography and the characters.

Powerful and deeply disturbing movie. I hope the main actress gets a nomination for her acting.

And I need to watch Mother, I started to last week and got distracted and didn't finish it.

Can't wait to see what the future holds for Christopher Nolan, that guy is a genius.

Uhm, I'm afraid it's not.. why ?

I know that he already has an impressive resume, that's why I (everyone) love him so much. But he's still a young guy (40 years old) with a hopefully a lot of stuff in him. That's what I mean with my "future" remark. Look at guys like Spielberg, he made 10000 movies (maybe not all th?t great, but he has made a lot of quality stuff in his life) and I hope Nolan will do the same.
Fair enough.

I just watched this yesterday:

This was also pretty good:

It was actually a 4 hour mini series but after having seen the original I found it enjoyable to revisit all of the original characters.  Also being a big football/soccer fan I liked how they sort of framed the story around the 86 World cup.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

Animal Kingdom was really good. Hoping to see The King's Speech soon, too.

I've watched movies lately but unfortunately everything's been below average or aren't worth mentioning.
