You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

^ that looks great, loved that version of 'Stardust' at the end of the trailer, and Melanie Laurent is so damn sexy

the Hoagy Carmichael version yes. Still love Nat King Cole, but Hoagy did that song justice.

Really want to check out that new Sofia Coppola film. Anyone seen it?

I posted about it a page or two back. It's insanely slow, pretty much nothing happens. There's some quality in it's subtlety, but most people are just going to be bored by it - especially if you're not interested in another movie about how being a celebrity's a drag. I guess just go into it knowing what to expect.

The poster was never tacked on the bottom,
True, but if the poster wasn't tacked at the bottom, could he have thrown the rock through it ? It wouldn't have been tightened, so I guess the rock would bounce off of it and the poster would shake a bit.
Then you could say that he just threw hard enough, but still. Makes you think. As as friend of mine just said when he saw that philosoraptor, "putting the poster back on would probably have been harder than digging the tunnel"

I absolutely loved it.
Really, really liked True Grit, King's Speech and The Fighter,

That scene is from "The Girl Who Played With Fire".  They're all good though.

Just saw skyline

Special effects were good for a low budget film and the aliens looked pretty badass too.
But the best thing was:

i heard this movie was the shittiest thing ever made by a human, and that the aliens resembled large vaginas.

It wasn't the best movie, but for the money it was just as believable as Independence day.

In monetary terms it was a huge success and will lead to more low budget sci-fi productions.  The budget was for about $10,000,000 and the movie grossed over $65,000,000.  That's before rentals, netflix, and DVD sales.

While, not my favorite it gives a hint at what's possible with a low-budget with todays technology.

?

How can a movie with aliens that look like vaginas be the shittiest thing ever made by a human?

I'm almost half on the movie transformers 2.
The robots are amazing and I like to see them fucking each other up and I know this movie was going to suck, but I'm getting all angry and sweaty because this movie is so damn shitty.

This is a typical movie that doesn't need humans in it. Just let big robots fuck each other up for 2 hours and everybody is happy.
No, it's 10 minutes of robot bad-assery and 2 hours of high school american pie humor. FUCK

Can't wait for the next half

you were in love with Scarlett but had never seen Lost In Translation? c'mon Victor, get it together! one of my all-time favorites. i love Bill Murray in it.

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

watch Ghost World if you haven't already.

i just finished this one

i really, really liked it and i loved The Millennium Trilogy as a whole. the US re-makes will probably suck, but we'll always have the originals.

i also this the other day too

for a movie where a dude's stuck in a wooden coffin the whole time, it was not bad at all. way better than i expected. lots of suspense and all that.

still haven't seen Black Swan. one of these days, damn it

She was 17 during the filming of Lost In Translation.  I don't think that changes anything, just saying.

Hearing about how that movie might well have been Sofia Coppola taking a bunch of jabs at her relationship with Spike Jonze changed the way I looked at it quite a bit.
