probably great.

Got around to watching 'Dogtooth' the other night.  It's very similar to the film 'Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom' in terms of what you can get people to do when they're cut off from civilization/controlled by people in power.  It's got some crazy scenes in it but also has a mix of black humor throughout.

If you guys get the chance you should check out 'I Saw The Devil' by Kim Ji-Woon.  One of my favorites from this year.  Choi Min-Sik (Main character from Old Boy) is in it after not appearing in any Korean films for a while because he was on strike.  Probably one of the better revenge films to come out over the past few years.

Love this movie! The fight scene in the car between the serial killers was so fucking intense.

i watched "the way back" with ed harris and colin farrell last night.  its about a group of people who escape from a siberian gulag and walk all the way to india to freedom.  its not for everyone but i enjoyed it.

watched "the mechanic" with jason stathum a few weeks ago.  most of his movies are all the same, its far from oscar worthy but entertaining nonetheless.

saw "sanctum" too.  eh, whatever.  the story was blah, it was just too predictable and while it did hold my attention, its nothing i'd watch twice.  if you're super bored, go for it otherwise i wouldn't bother.

also watched "the tourist" with depp and jolie.  i was glued the screen the whole time and i thought i had it all figured out up until the end.  that said, she needs to get naked like she did in "gia", which is actually another good flick.

"guillvers travels".  love all things jack black.  it doesn't matter how bad he is or what hes does, he just makes me laugh.

"love and other drugs".  anne hathaway gets all naked.  theres not much more to say because thats the only reason why i watched it.  shes got some beautiful titties.

Not sure anything compares to Salo though. Pretty sure the director was murdered because of that film. Then again I've heard he set up his own death. Dogtooth does look pretty interesting however.

easily one of my favorites.

Re Watched Donnie Darko last night.

Such a good movie.

Whenever I'm feeling super bummed out I think of the plane engine, and wish it could all be that simple.

^ Yeah that was great, so many of the 30 for 30's are really well done. "4 Days in October" is probably my favourite.

Really enjoyed it. Its taken me forever to actually sit down and watch this. It is long and the pacing is slow at times but it was great. Especially some of the shots Kubrick used with the fastest lens on earth that he "stole" from NASA, he lights entire frames with actual candle light its rad.

This chick is so fine in the movie, shes only in it for 5 minutes but wow, amazing

I agree with you that nothing will compare to Salo but the films do share some similar themes.  Pasolini wasn't killed because of making Salo;  He was murdered because he supported the Italian Communist Party.  When his killer got caught he called Pasolini a "dirty communist" in his confession.
