Super 8 is a big, steaming piece of festering CGI dogshit. I don't know what I expected, but it sure wasn't two hours of predictable, corny, gratuitous pseudo-drama without a smidgen of suspense or anything at stake. Barf barf barf, barf barf barf, poop poop barf.

i disagree

i loved the FUCK out of it.  besides one little scene near the end, that movie was great.  had a smile on my face the whole time.
yeah, i agree. saw it at a drive-in tonight. good shit.

Watching one of Jason Lee's first forays into movies.

Mi Vida Loca.

Jason Lee makes a brief cameo.

"Your sacrifice completes my sanctuary of 1000 testicles"

that movie is ridiculous.

If you haven't seen it, i recommend watching El Topo.

Caught the end of Silence of the Lambs when my roomie was watching and watched Hannibal after that. The nightvision scene gave me chills when I was walking down the hall in the dark ha ha. Hannibal was okay, kind of slow but the ending was so fucked up that it really saved the movie for me. Took me a while to realize the hot redhead was supposed to be the same character from Lambs.

So it looks like Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris is actually getting some pretty good reviews.

Guess you could say that I've been a bit wary of his latest output.

I saw it and liked it a lot. It's nice to see Owen Wilson get a role in a real movie for once, even though he's just himself. It was a fun movie and made me miss Paris a lot.

Really want to see this, Roger Deakins shot it, the guy who shot Shawshank, Fargo, Lebowski, No Country, Jesse James, the list goes on and on.

Double Roast

Saw this on netflix a few days back from a recommendation from this thread

So sick, I want to watch it again. The main actor who played IP man was legit, loved this movie

Still thinking about when shit absolutely went nuts during his first actual fight against those 10 dudes, reminded me of the opening of Jet Li's Fists of Legend just by how badass it was in such a short span

Fist of Legend; Jet vs. Japanese students

Saw Super 8 and was surprised by it. The kid actors were actually really on point. It was a little soft but I figured they were taking a different approach from Cloverfield.

John Carpenter's The Fog.  Great horror flick without needless gore or even special effects and costumes.  Well done.

SLC Punk fuckin' sucksssssssss. I can't stand looking at that goober's face. At least he didn't have a flavor savor in it.

Watched half of Starship Troopers last night. Paul Verhoeven really knows how to make comedy movie (RoboCop, Total Recall, he's just the boss).

Some people have been hating on this movie. Overall I was stoked on it. I think it got a little lost at times but the middle 70 min or so were pretty amazing. I need to see it again but strictly from a cinematography standpoint it might be my favourite shot movie, very unique but obviously like all of Malicks films, visually stunning.

Brad Pitt was great, really led the movie I felt. Sean Penn was hyped up but wasn't really in it. The kids were really solid too.

There was a surprising amount of tension in this movie, at times more than most thrillers I've seen lately.

It was a great film though definitely watch it when you get the chance.

Pretty late on this, but 127 hours was amazing. Summer's been giving me a lot of free time to catch up on movies.
