It's so fuckin' German and 90s, but I still enjoyed it.

It's like the French version of Brazil. Parts of it stressed me out, like Brazil, but overall it's a good movie. It has some crazy/creative visuals.

both of these are awesome. Havent seen Delicatessen in a long time

fucking loved this scene

Probably the only kind of horror movie I like, which is a damn shame because I don't think I've seen anything else like it.

Really enjoyed it though

Castaway on the Moon. Amazing movie. I had my doubts going in, but it's tip top. It's on Netflix.

How was it?  I'm a huge Almodovar fan, but I haven't seen any mention of this.

A big "Fuck Yeah" and "What took me so long" to these Japanese masterpieces. Howl's Moving Castle is up next.

I saw this years ago at an outdoor film festival where my view of the subtitles was almost completely obstructed by a speaker and was still amazed by it.  I need to check out the dubbed version.

I'm just going to throw out some scores for the movies I've seen recently.

The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans  7.5/10
The Lives of Others 9.5/10
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2  7/10
Dog Day Afternoon  9/10
Monster House  8/10

Followed through on a random internet recommendation, I wasn't disappointed. Fantastic cast.

Tim Roth - The Hit - "Cuatro cervezas"

Dubbed anime and kung fu movies are dumb.  It's not even watching the same movie.  Fuck that noise.  The main point of me studying japanese was so I could watch japanese movies without subs in the native language.  Seriously, never bring up dubbed movies ever again.

Pretty much what he said.
Dubbing a movie is killing half of the author's work.

Dubbed films in general? Terrible.
Dubbed Studio Ghibli movies? Absolutely fine. They hire solid casts, and that's all you need.

This is a good one I watched a week ago.  70's animation from France dubbed in English.

It was pretty awesome. I don't really think I can speak on it that much without revealing a major plot twist or making it sound like some stupid soap opera. All I have to say is go watch it, like right now. It's essential that you see this film.
