Somebody said stay away from Killer Elite and I actually did until today. Holly Shit! Great movie. On the level of City of God. Now this is, Killer Elite: The Enemy Within and not the first one. It's on Netflix watch instant and it was amazingly good. Basically a good story + good cinematography + brutal violence= Awesomeness.

I was warning people off of Killer Elite, but it sounds like you're thinking of Elite Squad (aka Tropa de Elite) which I haven't seen but is actually supposed to be decent. Generic titles, what can you do.

Natalie was incredibly sexy in this movie and Jude Law was awesome.

Haven't seen Tree of Life so I thought I'd watch Malick's first movie. Loved the plot and the younger sisters voice, so uniquely weird.

Watched this and actually had tears in the beginning of the movie.

Sure he's a typecasted character like Zooey Deschanel, but damn.. he does a real good job in his acting. He was real good in the Fighter as well.

Im downloading 20 Gigs of DragonBall right now. When it was on TV when I was a kid I would watch it but I was always bad with sticking to a schedule and missed tons of episodes. Im not even sure how many universes, series, characters there are or any of that. Ive just heard it goes bat shit crazy.
[close]
But the specials are part of the series' story and they are real nice, like "Bardock, Father of Goku" or "The History of Trunks", but I suggest you watch these at either a specific time in the series or after the related saga, so it doesn't get confusing.

I also found a real dragon ball gem on a yard sale about ten years ago; the 3 original movies from 1986

and I also found this recently online: Dragon Ball Episode Of Bardock - FULL VERSION - HD [ENGLISH SUBTITLED]
It's a special from 2011 continuing the special 'Bardock, Father of Goku' and I was fucking stoked!
Yeah I don't know what happened in order for this to be possible but recently there have been a bunch of full movies uploaded to youtube and a lot of them say in the description 'I don't own this, it was posted for the purpose of comment, critique, education, etc.' and a lot of the Dragonball/Dragonball Z movies have been posted.

I watched this earlier and got the biggest nostalgic boner.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the Movie
Put on a helmet and some pads and start doing some real shit.

I went to the same highschool that Starkweather dropped out of. Badlands of course is based on him.

I'm looking for more film noir with similarities to this because i loved it. Jack Nicholoson at his best.

If you're lookin for Film Noir type of movies, might as well start with the one that started it. Citizen Kane. UNLESS you've seen it already.

Hahaha Citizen Kane definitely didn't start Film Noir, it's not even a Noir.. I would say that it influenced some of the early Noir Films though.  And to codithou, The Asphalt Jungle, Touch of Evil, Where the Sidewalk Ends, The Maltese Falcon, and Stanley Kubrick's The Killing are a good place to start.

from a hockey players perspective this movie is a little bit over the top, but its very well done. a lot of big names too, sean william scott, jay baruchel who is absolutely hilarious, liev schreiber, and the drummer girl from scott pilgrim. good movie

Liev Schreiber did all the voiceovers for HBO's 24/7. Most epic narrator voice next to Morgan Freeman

I watched Inglourious Basterds again last night. That one and 'No Country For Old Men' are pretty close to perfect movies for me
watching this movie now its super funny im loving it so far

Gotta say, I've never watched anything as unsettling as Twin Peaks. It is amazing but I'm shitting my pants, the first 3 episodes of the 2nd season are insane

Easily the scariest show I've seen

Yes! I'm watching Twin Peaks as well. Extremely unsettling atmosphere during the entirety of the show. The pilot episode so far is some of the best television I've ever seen.

+1 for twin peaks. the characters were great. audrey is my favourite  ;D the show always, always kept me guessing. as unsettling and weird as it could sometimes be it could also be just as goofy. i love it.

Hugo

First movie in over 12 years from Scorsese that doesn't feature Leo DiCaprio. Something different from him for sure, couldn't compare it to any of his films. I can see how it won the Oscar for cinematography, amazing lighting throughout. So good that it almost looked computer generated, normally I hate anything CGI or that look of hyper realism, which is why I've been avoiding Tin-Tin, although it does look legit.

My Week with Marilyn

Liked this a lot more than I thought I would. I saw Blue Valentine and wasn't as amazed with Michelle Williams as everyone else seemed to be. She was good in this though.

On the agenda for tomorrow is Take Shelter and Another Earth, from recommendations from this thread.
