Saw the new Dredd movie. It was awesome. Everything an action film should be. Go see it and you can slap me if you don't enjoy it.

i recently watched the raid and prometheus, both were pretty good. the raid is probably one of the best movies for a baked out action-flick session.

prometheus on the other hand was just pretty good, not mindblowing. it's really not as obscure as the teasers and all made it look, just a solid space-horror flick. i'm still looking forward to a possible sequel, though.

I think the only way I can look at Prometheus as being halfway decent is if I completely divorce it from the original Alien franchise.

Its probably the best looking bad movie I have ever seen.

i know what you mean. the set design was probably my favorite part about this movie. everything else was really standard, following the classic space-horror/drama formula. there are plot holes and shit. and if you try to tie it in with alien, it seems really weak compared to that. i'm a sucker for space-horror films so i can look past these things. i just hope a sequel goes more into depth about all these plot holes/loose ends. but thinking that damon lindelof was a writer, dude probably made shit up along the way as he did with lost, so there goes the coherence...

Prometheus (and Alien as well) ripped a lot of stuff off of "Planet of the Vampires".  Alien got some criticism back when it came out because of the blatant similarities, but Prometheus took it to another level.  The costumes are virtually identical, as is the main plotline (unseen ancient alien force infects crew of space explorers and makes them kill each other, etc)...

Cannot wait to see this, limited releases and pretty much ZERO publicity for this film, you have to go out of your way to get hyped on it

The Assassination of Jesse James is one of my favourite films. Looking forward to the Directors follow-up

Randomly choose this off Netflix tonight and man IT was great.

Great action movie without going over the top and an very well written story. I could say it mashed up with The Professional and Taken respectfully. Definitely give it a watch.

Someone mentioned this in one of the movie threads, but this is the heaviest movie I've seen in a long time. Even for Werner.

Looper was fucking fantastic

I highly recommend everyone to go see it. It has a real "Terminator" feel to it at parts. Absolutely loved the writing, cinematography, music. Everything was working in it. The "China" sequence alone was worth the price of admission for me.

I'm seeing it again this week

Hey via, the pic doesn't show up on my computer and I'm curious which movie you're talking about.

I just watched Timecrimes, which is a foreign movie that got rated highly for Netflix streaming, but I wasn't overly impressed. It was a fun watch, but pretty shitty acting I thought:

I also just watched The Town again and that movie is damn good. I think Jeremy Renner plays such a fitting role in that movie.

Looper was entertaining enough but the logic lost me from the get go and I couldn't let go of it to fully enjoy the movie.

**Potential spoiler:
The mob uses time travel to get rid of bodies, why not kill people in the future and send their bodies back in time? Then they wouldn't have to pay loopers or have that liability. In the present bodies would just appear as unsolvable crime scenes. Also why would the mob tell loopers about closing the loop and pay them extra? Why not just send the older loopers to a different looper who wouldn't recognize them or know what's going on.

C'mon future mob up your game.

Can't believe I haven't heard anything of this film. Looks fantastic. As does the trailer for The Ice Man. Michael Shannon has been killing it. Loved Take Shelter.

Paris, TX has one of my favorite movie soundtracks. Great movie.

Thank you, just watched it, that was impressive and fun to watch.
(It's basically the same kind of plot as Natural Born Killers and some other movies, but it has an own vibe to it)
