Just watched Clockers for the first time on Netflix. Met the old dude with the moustache somewhere. It's funny cuz he's in mad movies but he's a regular ass dude. Works in a deli or some shit.

HATE!

I wouldn't say The Conjuring scared me, but it was definitely well done and one of the better haunted house/possession movies I've seen in awhile.  Picking a "scary" movie is kinda tough.  If I wanna get creeped out, I tend to go for more psychological thriller types.  Fucked up shit that just sticks with you for awhile.  I'd pick I Saw The Devil, Martyrs, Irreversible, High Tension and Funny Games are all ones I immediately think of that a re a bit more recent.
If you liked Irreversible you should also check out I stand alone by Gaspar No?, pretty good too.

Oh, I've seen that.  Such an unbelievably fucked up movie.

On scary movies again, I saw "The Descent" this weekend and really liked it. I missed it when it was first released but heard a bit of hype about it, I'm somewhat claustrophobic so a few scenes really got to me, it was well done though.

Anytime I watch a shitty movie on Netflix I'll throw on one of these two, if nothing else to remind me that great movies can be made

Waltz with Bashir. Hadn't seen it since it first came out. Doesn't ease one's misantrophy, that's for sure.

i just saw "a Field in England" too.  I liked it, but it wasn't as crazy.  more of an atmospheric, psychedelic film.  got the soundtrack on cassette though, it's really great.

also just saw 'Iceman" last night.  Michael Shannon needs an Oscar at some point in his life.

I liked him as Kuklinski and the rest of the cast did very well too, but that movie left out so many important parts of Kuklinski's life and kind of expected you to be ok with that with lame montages.

this movie was fucking terrible

"Dog Pound" on NetFlix is pretty good. About a juvenile detention center.

word, watched it with my girl and actually enjoyed it

that being said i feel like reallly lethargic lately.  I watched "The Iceman," "The Truman Show,"  and just recently watched "Pulp Fiction" again today and I just have not enjoyed a single one of these movies.  "Dog Pound" was the last movie I watched that I actually enjoyed watching and that was months ago that I saw it

yeah i tried to watch Ice Man and couldn't get into it. i kinda liked "Scenic Route" but you can tell it's kinda low budget. I didn't sit through the whole thing.

the camera definition is amazing in these movies, you do some psychedelics before you watch it?

Smoked some weed, seemed to do the trick. Ron Fricke is amazing and his crew must have insane patience. It took them around five years just to shoot the dang thing.

Out of the furnace was good and Dallas Buyers Club was amazingly good. It's to early to give a top 10 but so far 1. 12 Years a Slave 2. Dallas Buyers Club 3. Gravity 4. Prisoners 5. The Counselor 6. Blue Jasmine 7. Before Midnight 8. Out of the Furnace 9.The Conjuring and 10. well we have at least 4 contenders for best of the year coming up this month. American Hustle, Wolf of Wallstreet, Nebraska and The Cohen brothers movie. Just a great year for films.  :)
