I really dug escape from tomorrow.

Cheap Thrills and Blue Ruin were both great.

Snowpiercer was pretty good in a dumb way. Tilda Swinton's dystopian thatcher vibe in it was pretty funny.

best movie i have ever seen. denis villenueve is one of the most exciting directors. cant wait to see more films from him

[close]

based on the poster alone, looks like a movie about the Roppongi Hills spider coming to life and Jake is the hero who defeats it.

am i way off?

Yeah, big time. The spider is a metaphor.

I just watched Dogtooth on Netflix...and holy fuck. That is a fantastic film. It is fucked up, and hilarious at the same time. It left me pretty blown away. I highly recommend it. It is in Greek though. So you'll have to do subtitles.

Just watched this. Fucking weird.

I'm just amazed that you were able to recognize a sculpture of a spider from the other side of the world.

House of Cards m-f-ers.  Ok, I know - its not a movie .....its BETTER than any movie Ive seen in a while.  Just binged the entire first season - the character development, the writing, cinematography, EVERYTHING about this series is incredible.  I cant believe they went this far with it, this type of disclosure of the "real" reality behind power politics and the psychopaths involved at the highest level is pretty rare in media.  Mind blowing series that Id recommend to anyone...Frank Underwood is an instant classic.

NEIGHBORS:

fucking awesome "bad neighbor" comedy with Dan Akroyd and John Belushi playing the straight man (last movie he ever made).  the vibe of this movie reminds me of The Burbs, and it's just as essential.  And Cathy Moriarty, holy shit

THE RIVERS EDGE:

pretty eh movie, a cult classic mainly due to the metal head/stoner vibe and the constant soundtrack of Slayers 'Show No Mercy'.  some great quotes in there, Dennis Hopper is awesome and Crispin Glover is so bad it's genius, Ione Skye is cute.

CUTTHROATS 9:

I watch this when I'm cranky, one of my all time favorite movies.  Was called one of the most "mean-spirited" movies ever made by some journalist guy.. awesome ultra-violent spaghetti western (and from what I understand, is gonna be the next movie Quentin Tarintino rips off)

river's edge is awesome. i didn't think it was 'eh' at all. i searched that movie down cause of that sample on a consolidated video where the little kid knocks out feck w/ a stick and his buddy goes 'hit him again'. just about anything on a consolidated video is an awesome movie except godfather was boring to me and i fell asleep to rueben and ed before his cat could eat a whole watermelon.

Anyone seen the new X-Men yet? I hear it's pretty good but I kinda want/need a SLAP opinion to give me the green or red light on this one. I don't care if it starts with "I'm no Roger Ebert but?"

Every time i sit down to watch this movie, something happens, and i have to pause it, still havent finished it. Last good movie i saw though was king of comedy. Old scorsese movie, with a young robert deniro. Very dark, in a humorous way.
This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Skateboarding is nothing but a game to find the right fits to appear like you're a proportional human being instead of a midget or a giant.

Yes. I mentioned Dogtooth in here before, as well as this link http://thedissolve.com/news/743-guys-dogtooth-director-yorgos-lanthimoss-next-film/
After Dogtooth and Alps, it sounds promising.

Alps is killer too. I'm psyched for The Lobster. I love foreign films. I don't mind subtitles at all, but it would be even better if these were in English.
