My homie did the soundtrack for that movie. I need to see it.

I finally watched The Babadook tonight. Creepy, very unsettling, really cool horror movie that avoided cheep scares and over-the-top gore, building real fucking tension and dread. I watched a lot of this film with hands over my eyes. Yes, I'm a baby.

Your homie killed it then. The soundtrack was the best part of the movie, and the whole thing was pretty good. I typically hate horror movies, but this one was a total John Carpenter-style throwback.

Y'all seen this? Amazingly edited documentary made entirely with archival footage. Some of the best storytelling I've seen.

^^^^Yes!

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

It seems to have come and gone with little fanfare, but Spy is funny as hell. It's like people don't understand what the feel and audience of the film is supposed to be. If that's the hurdle this movie is facing let me tell you what it's like. It's not a silly lighthearted spy spoof. It's a mean spirited, quick witted comedy that's also a spy movie. I seriously can't imagine a comedy fan not liking this movie.
Before you say the music sucked, have you considered shutting the fuck up?

Thanks for bringing that back to my mind, I've been meaning to watch that since it came out.
Also, this:
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

Yes! Liked it a lot but didn't make me think of Persona despite the 'mysterious person arrives in town' premise.

It's a documentary but it's shot at 24 fps so it "looks like a movie" if that makes any sense.

It's also one of the most fucked up things I've seen in regards to a filmmaker putting his own life on the line..

Saw this the other day... Really good movie! It's pretty much a tragicomedy set during the war in Yugoslavia with a really dark kind of humor. The soundtrack (Buzzcocks, Lou Reed) kicks ass, too! Go see it if they show it in a theatre near you!

My partner and I went to see the Fassbender Steve Jobs film a week or two ago and I am still recommending it to people.
Even if you're not interested in CEO's of large billion dollar, multi-national corporations there is a lot to be enjoyed about this film. Fassbender, Kate Winslet and Rogen all put on quality performances (even if Winslet's accent is all over the place.
It has a decent enough meta critic and recieved some great reviews but seemed to seriously under-perform at the box office although I'm not sure why. It's not a biopic and the three-act structure really works to the film's favour.
Any other Pals care to chime in?

Trying? What prevented the first time? I thought it was really good.
I think he means that he'd like to see it again, not that he failed to see it on first attempts.
