I'm surprised you even guessed that right. I definitely never talk about her because I'm just loaded with so many friends so I usually forget I even have one

Wasn't super hyped on Okja. Wasn't garbage but had a weird mix of tones. Watched The Host for the 3rd time afterwards. Still like that one.

Hell Or High Water was good, maybe not as great as I was expecting. Worth the watch though.

Yeah, I agree with most of this. I think I liked Hell or High Water more than you though.

I like Bong Joon-ho, and have really enjoyed some of Jon Ronson's non-fiction writing, but didn't even wind up finishing Okja. It made me want to watch E.T.

I watched Gangs of New York for the first time yesterday (it's on Netflix), to build hype for seeing him in Phantom Thread later this week.

And by "him", in that last post, I meant Daniel Day Lewis.

Just watched Burn After Reading again (also on NetFlix).
I feel like this movie often gets overlooked, when people discuss Coen brothers films, but I think it's hilarious, and has a great cast: John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Brad Pitt, Richard Jenkins.

While the movie was enjoyable, I felt that it was half an hour short. But that isn't because I was looking for closure. It was because felt like besides Dixon, Mildred, and Willoughby the audience didn't really get to know anyone else.

I wanted to know more about the death and the new chief.

I was bummed as Abbie Cornish's character is from my hometown yet still did the worst Australian accent I have ever heard

The joke about the priest as a gang member was pretty great.

Baby Driver was pretty great.

Edgar Wright is an amazing director. Still bummed about him not being part of the MCU anymore.

The Shape of Water was pretty good, had more laughs than I was expecting.
Loved Michael Shannon in general, especially him getting increasingly pissed and popping painkillers the whole time.
Also made me remember how much I like Richard Jenkins.

Watched Keeping up with the Joneses. Decent, wouldn't pay for it though, gradually gets funnier through out the movie.

Gal Gadot is a babe

Weird seeing Zach Galifianakis skinny, was throwing me off the whole movie. He just has a fat persons body, like Kevin James

i read the book a few yrs ago and it knocked my socks off! the movie is dece, it ties together the short stories into one long story w/ a bunch of sub plots. cities usedta be so gnar! like whenever people decry the violence nowadays or whatever, urban dudes in the 50s inhabited a rough and scary place.
fat ricki lake is in it as a teenage mother.

Has anyone seen grizzly man? Its a documentary about a dude who lived in the Alaskan wilderness for 13 summers who recorded himself being wacky and just living free. He tames foxes and spends his whole time recording grizzly bears. He eventually comes to hate civilisation because he realises what bs it all is. Watch it!

Wonder was an extremely good movie, but Owen Wilson didn't say "wow" once nor did he back blunt a handrail so I actually give it a 0/10.

I saw your mom do a ollie to cooch drop straight down the big black pole, it was gnarly. she defiantly shut that shit down

I read the book before, and as in most cases, the book was a lot better than the movie, although I do think it's a good movie. I only saw it because my ex-teacher mother in law bought us tickets to see it since she read the book to her class a little while ago.

Just watched this at McMenimans while drinking some beers and it was great. Pixar movies are the shit. I wish I had a Mexican grandmother.
