Had such a good weekend of hungover movies, woke up today and watched Children of men and then collateral. Saw The Wrestler yesterday, got drunk and was smashing my elbows like in the movie, the wrestler was fucking rad, Aronofsky is so sick

Good calls on those Frisco. I watched La Haine yesterday based on one of your posts in here, seriously incredible. So well directed and the ending was awesome. Some of those weird zoom/pans actually made me say "wow" out loud, just an awesome movie visually.

I watched RocknRolla a few days ago and I was actually pretty into it.   I'd seen Lock Stock and Snatch a long time ago, but after seeing Rocknrolla, i really wanted to watch them again.  I ended up watching them both last night.  I think Snatch is my favorite of the three.  Brad Pitt's character is so dope.

I agree, Snatch was the best of the three, I enjoyed rocknrolla though, Gerard Butler is dope I hope hes going to be in more good films.

Mooley glad you liked La Haine, I first saw it when I was really young and did not appreciate it at the time, the only word I can think of to describe the cinematography in that movie is "inspiring" not to mention the dope cast and really good story/script, all around an amazing film

I have 5 movie torrents on the go, some I have seen some I haven't, needless to say though I'm always stoked on new movies
the 5 on the go: Big Fish, Heat, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, In the Heat of the Night and Christopher Nolans first feature called "Following" very stoked on all of them

I saw this last week, and was pretty meh about it.  Some funny parts, some good characters, some good performances.  But fuck, it was way more tedious than it needed to be.  I found it retreaded a lot of the same territory as Adaptation.  Seemed like he was just flailing around trying to get something to stick to the wall.  Adaptation seemed to center around Kaufman's difficulty coming up with a script and Synechdoche was mostly about struggling to direct.  It's about as dull as reading about somebody's writer's block.  I mean, what did you guys think he was trying to say?  Did I miss something or was this just a belabored tale of the futility of man's existence or something equally as whiny?

i'm a great admirer of anything Troma, but for some reason, i can't seem to like anything released after Tromeo & Juliet (i.e. Terror Firmer, Toxic Avenger 4, etc.).

It's probably because that one dude left to make scooby doo movies.

They played TA 3 on G4 TV the other day.  I'd never seen troma on TV before.

ahahah . . . yeah, probably. After James Gunn left the company, things definitely changed. Their recent stuff is waaaay too self-referential for my liking. It gets pretty tedious.

RocknRolla was badass.

The Mist was quite Delicious.

Religulous was Very on point.

An american carroll seemed to essentially be a big Shit-pile. It has it's moments but It was just made to "show michael moore the error of his ways" or someshit But I could give a turd ither way...

So many beautiful girls.
[close]

finally another giallo fan!

that one's awesome!  i dubbed a copy of it a couple years ago, but i can't find it anywhere.

if you like that, check out Sergio Martino, Mario Bava, Umberto Lenzi, Fulci, Argento, etc...

[close]

Throw me some movie titles, I want to check out more. This is the only real giallo I've seen, it was recommended by a friend. I'm intrigued.
[close]

i could go on for days, but these are some of my favorites:

deep red
tenebrae
the bird with the crystal plumage
don't torture a duckling
the new york ripper
the strange vice of mrs wardh
your vice is a locked room and only i have the key
lizard in a woman's skin
the girl in the yellow pajamas
blood and black lace
the black belly of the tarantula

goooood fucking list, tenebrae should be required viewing for everyone in this thread.  shit is so kinky and great.

They'll probably change it so he doesnt sleep with her. Hollywood mainstream wouldn't be ready for a film like that, they'd lose it
