For those who liked 'American Beauty' you'll most likely enoy this, it doesnt have the same comedic touch that spacey had but has the dysfunctional home/marriage and a tragic ending, Im sorry though I just couldn't sympathize for Kate Winslets character, I fucking hated her, now I cant watch any movie with Winslet without thinking, fuck you

At times it seems Leo was overacting, even for his status it was really really intense, if it was anyone else it would have been laughable. It was shot by Deakins, who did No Country for Old Men, Assassination of Jesse James, Shawshank Redemption and the music was done by Thomas Newman; Road to Perdition, Shawshank

Basically they had all the ingredients for an amazing film but it just didnt come together, it was good though

I really liked this one.  Every character have such spot on performances in this. I especially can't believe how well Natalie Portman acted in it. How'd she turn into such a boring actor?

Wait, full length based on the short? I don't really remember there being much to go on in the short...

I don't remember who posted this up in here, but god bless you for doing so.  I watched it on the weekend and it was the funniest thing I've seen in forever.

It almost seems self consciously bad in a fake sorta way (Denny's scene with the drug dealer, endless completely pointless scenes of them playing football together, the fact that every single time a character sees another character they say, "Oh, hi so and so").

But I dunno.  Crazy crazy shit.  I love the idea of a fucked up Euro with a bunch of money making a complete vanity project.  I imagine the whole movie is him trying to get back at some girl that cheated on him in real life.

I have to say I enjoyed the short much more than the full-length. It seemed way too kitschy and drawn out, and the blatant attempts at comic relief everywhere fell short.

I've decided Im going to try and watch every Kubrick directed movie, someone mentioned they tried this before with actor Daniel Day Lewis and it sounded like a good idea

wow its weird that you just posted this doing this because ive been doing this over the past couple of days, im workin backwards so i started with eyes wide shut.  after rewatching it now, i've found a great appreciation for it and understand why kubrick claimed it was his best film. i just finished dr. strangelove and until i've watched every one of his movies to change my opinion otherwise, i don't think kubrick made a film that didnt change the way you look at things.

I finally got to see Rock n Rolla. It definitely isnt Ritchie's best work by far, but I'm still a fan of his movies and the storylines are usually
good with the comedy/violence deal.

A little overrated but I still love it, I remember the first time I watched it I was blown away

Same here, the first time I saw it just tripped me out. I really liked it.

this past week i saw: i love you man, la haine, gonzo, and adventureland

i love you man was amusing, worth a watch but not necessarily in theaters

la haine was extremely well done, not my favorite genre but definitely a powerful flick

gonzo was interesting to say the least, hunter s. thompson earned a little more respect from me

adventureland far surpassed my expectations, it was way darker and conflicted than i would have imagined, yet still really funny. not too gratuitous either like superbad. Also, the soundtrack was killer, i think the music direction was by Yo La Tengo, and there was a shitload of Velvet Underground in there.

I was surprised by how funny I Love You, Man was. Some good moments for sure, I was dying during the part with all the billboards.

For the first time since it was in theatres, fucking love this movie.

watchmen. It was ok, but not amazing. I think it tried too hard to be epic with all of the slow motion and including the characters in major historic events. Would have rather seen I love you, man.

I saw Monsters vs Aliens this weekend with my kids. It was ok... not great. The theater I went do didn't play it in 3-d which was a huge let down. It would have been way better in 3d.
